Another lighting question

I run mine at approx 8-10” from canopy. This gives me approx 50k lux. I’m currently running them on an angle to maximize photon emission. I’ll post a pic below

The plant on the left side has 12 strips running 30watts each...360 watts getting into the heart of the lady.

It's beautiful, dudebroman. The plants are cool enough but your lights are beautiful.
I need to start piecing something like this together for my 2x3. Maybe run the length of the tent and do six two footers? Your canopy distance beats the 600 watt LED I'm using on limited loan. That one's 22" minimum during flowering. Maybe start with two to augment the 350 I usually use? That's only a 16" canopy.
Crap! That could add more than 6" to my plant height when I get a full setup! Crap!
Gawd love you, dudebroman.

Plant surface temp is 25C (77F) at the spots closest to the strips 😎. I run two oscillating fans that are primarily to cool the heatsinks, but they also give me circulation for the ladies.
I have plans on a second generation modification to my lights. Early spring.

I should also mention that the plant on the right has only 8 strips pointed at her. She’s a couple inches smaller, and less leaf-dense than the other plant. I also rotate them 90degrees everyday to keep balance of light and shadows across the little buds hiding in the middle. The main kolas don’t seem to give a f*%k which way they get exposed to the strips because their like “f*%k it man, we be happy 6 ways from Sunday with this light” 😎🤣

Oh wow. I couldn't get my tent under 84F this last grow. Between that & the pics of your girls I better look into this!!! Would 10 of those less expe.sive ones cover 4x4?

Might need a few more. With these strips, one benefit of adding more strips, is you can run them at lower power per strip — lower heat emission — closer to canopy. And at $10/strip...the decision is pretty easy. Remember, lights are food 👍 and dealing with excess heat from other high temp lights is costly.
Have a look at my build journal. Start reading over on LEDgardener some of the info on led lights. There are a multitude of build guides for different size of spaces. Lots of very smart people in there too.

Let my try again to approach your problem from a different direction.

If you're like me (and you may have the same priorities and goals a I do, which are simplicity, affordabilty, and I prefer something I can buy readily and cheeply over a complicated DIY build.

Here is an inexpensive light that should fit your needs, AND be an upgrade. And can be delivered for free by the end of next week, which means you can have it plugged in and growing you pot in another 30 minutes after that.

Thanks YYCannabis I'll do that Thanks a million!!
I looked on digikey but couldn't find that part number, what is the name of the product? Manufacturer?

No, just found it on Amazon, and thought it would fit you needs if you didn't want to build something. I heard those components made growers happy.

Cool. Thanks guys. I think for the price I'm gonna go with the DIY strips. It don't look too difficult either. 👍

I've been looking at my old vipra 450 it's got just the veg system light working no full spectrum it's doing the job but not sure how much longer had it over 3yrs running. If I were to replace it for my veg. tent it would be that one Dingus sent a link on I've read up on those it would work very well for vegging in my 3x3 and good for bloom in a 2x2 cost wise, less hassle but if you got the skills? why not :)

Shit.

So demon alcohol strikes again.... New Yrs Eve somebody was tounge kissin the wrong person at midnight & now the friend who's shop & inert gas welder I was gonna use to make a spine & rib fixture is 1/2 packed up & he's movin out. Why does this shit always happen to ME????? LMAO.
So.... YYCannabis ..... is there a "lip" on those strips that would enable me to clamp them to the spine without damaging them?

Nxt question- Last time I asked about lighting requirements I was told I need about 800w for a 4x4..... here I'm being told that a 600w mh pulling 400 from the wall is sufficient. LEDs that cover a 2x2 footprint also. WTF??
