COCO COIR Advice on first attempt to grow mother plants

Yes... I do use MH in my 4x4 and 3x3 for veg. My 2x2 mother room on a 250w MH would be a bit overkill. Plus it would cost me another ballast/fan. A cheap LED let’s me minimize to 130w actual draw at a smaller equipment cost.

It's funny because I am for the most Part looking at growing cannabis in reverse of how it is done for production, so I would assume that by lowering the lights wattage it also aids in a slower growing and shorter plant.
Do you keep your mums in soil?

Yes about the soil, and yes... that is correct. I also use the gas lantern routine of 12 on, 5.5 off, 1 on, and 5.5 off to even further slow down my moms. I still pull 50-75 per month, which is way more than what I need to grow. I usually end up giving a bunch away to friends for free.

How long have you had the moms?

These particular ones, about 9 months. I have kept others for years before though. You just have to remove a bit of the root-ball and replant in fresh soil every year or so to keep them that long.
