A Tale of Two seeds

I think these are Bruce Banner, long story and speaks for the potency of Jack Herrer, but that's another story.

I'm using Advanced Nutrients this time and starting at full strength. In addition using Hydro Guard and Cal Mag at full strength with RO water 7.5 gal.
For Lights I'm using a MARS HYDRO SP 250 Led, I have used this light for a couple of grows and like it, I use a spider 100 for the seedlings and the first couple of weeks.
Using a auto top off system mixed at 1/3 strength of my current nutrient mix. I can leave for a a couple of weeks, max of three weeks and will be fine. Only issue is raising the lights but a bud helps out.
Both sides will roll out for training, but once the net goes up they are static.

Both seeds started off after soaking for about 36 hours with a nice tap root, put them into grow medium and started in my small grow tote. Ideal being that once they threw a root out long enough to soak up nutrients (About a one inch space between bottom of pot and water).

Have no ideal what is happening with plant on the right. Just will not jump start and still no roots coming out of bottom of net pot, do not want to peek and disturb what roots it may have.

IGNORE TEMP GUAGE, ITS A SWAG AND TEMP IS 10 DEGREES OFF, THE ACTUAL IS 68

This is the second grow of the season, want to try some of the training I have seen recently but because they are auto, going to be minor.
Lets see what this sucker will do.

I started out in DWC because I thought I could leave them for up to a week. However, I found myself having to adjust pH every 2 to 3 days. Are you automatically adjusting pH and if so, how?

Only during veg and seed starting, but it has been the only solution I have found for a little white fly that randomly shows up. I use stick strips the rest of the grow. I ventilate to the outside. After all that, the wife has declared no more pest strips

Wife checks it for me and I tell her how much to add :-), she just does not want to get into the rest of it. I only do it when I have to, not the best solution to great growing. Getting the top off mixture correct with out testing and delivery automation is impossible so I just mix at half strength and let it fly.
Leaving for a week should not be an issue though, I use nutrients that automatically balance the ph, for me they have worked great in the early and first week or two of flowering. After that it gets to be a crap shoot and I have to test more frequently and adjust.

I'm concerned about the colour of the rooting cube on the right hand plant, those green splotches look like that could be algae. The area I live in often has algae blooms occur in the water supply, and while HydroGaurd can combat it within the resevoir itself, I had found that the top surfaces of the cubes are just perfect for the algae to flourish .
I lost a few seeds where they just seemed not to thrive and a green tint appeared on those rooting cubes, so I think the roots were in effect being smoothered.

My solution to that problem is that before starting a seed, I thoroughly sterilise the rooting cube before I do anything.

Also, in the first couple of weeks, seeds of the same variety will often appear to grow at different rates as they get themselves established, but given time the "slow starters" will catch up!

I just went back and looked at some old pictures, that dang thing has been hanging since the first of the grow year. Completely slipped my mind.

Its down to testing the ph once in a while, the wife's method of throw it in the garden and see what grows approach has worked well for her. She is still smarting from the JH grow off :-)

Good point, comes from how I start my plants, I was lazy and did not cover the rockwool with the feed tubes under. I like seeing them work for verification. As far as seeds go, could not agree more, I think several of my last grows demonstrate just how diff they can be.

I got spider mites in my last grow. When I emptied everything out I put two in the text. Now that I'm starting my new grow( seeds are still under ground) I pulled them out. Are they safe to use like your doing during veg?

According to my wife they are not safe to use in a football field, but they were great at getting rid of the flies I had.

Back from a nice fishing trip, system took care of its self but as pointed out earlier, PH was an issue. Both plants doing well, roots look great. Heaters in shop and aquarium heaters in totes were going full blast. Hate this cold weather!

I'm convinced that the right side of my grow box is jinxed, no question about it. If you look thru my past grows, all my issues have been on the right side of my box..... no question about it... its on film.

Noticing that the left side was a little to close to the lights, and the right side was still way behind, I attempted to angle the light, which resulted in it falling down and crushing the plant on the right.....

I went ahead and tied it down and trimmed it out..... Placing add for Vodoo consultant.

Getting ready to leave the girls again for about a week. One on the right that had the light attempted a high speed landing on it is somewhat recovered Added a second light and shopping for new 24" lights so I can adjust separately. Love the Mars, but not working for me.

How shitty for you RagWeedDWC seems like you got that right with the L & R sides. Time for a upgrade. I sure hope your going fishing? Good luck out there stay safe :)

Yep, Red Fish in Louisiana this time. I have been informed that pre fishing is a young mans game now. So, fishing for fun.

Can you leave them unattended for a week without adjusting pH or is someone helping?

I would love to be able to leave mine for a week but still have not found a grow method that allows it.
