A seedling inquiry

Hey all! I'm getting closer to getting my seeds, and I read on gwe that when you place them in the rapid rooter they are supposed to be in complete darkness until they sprout in warm (80ish) conditions. I don't have a heating blanket or pad, but when running my led light in the grow tent it gets around 80. Is it okay to place the rapid rooter in the hydroton and cover it up with a paper plate to keep the light away from it until it sprouts? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

"In complete darkness" means if the white roots get light they get green and become plant. This stop being roots. Once the seed is inside a rapid rooter or a jiffy is already in darkness. Leave the light above the soil so when it sprouts it opens instead of stretching. Imagine planting outdoors in the sun. Just bury the seed and wait :)
