out for a wilderness drive and hike into a walk-in lake. Mosquitoes were real bad and almost carried us away. They are big out here.
Wild horses also out here. This one seemed calm enough even with her new colt.

Wild horses, how cool is that. I can remember as a kid camping with my family and seeing the Assateague Island wild horses.
By the by, managed to get my hair cut yesterday...yeah! And have a dentist appt this morning, with a boatload of guidelines and precautions to take. Wait in truck to be called, someone will come outside and take my temp and fill out a questionnaire , use hand sanitizer station outside, can't touch anything (including door handles etc.), wear mask until instructed to remove it...and, and.....

It's a not so brave new world GreenState. Up north here people are almost acting as if it didn't happen. Almost. And we have no current covid cases confirmed in our area. Not sure why this area was spared but yes time for a haircut and medical exam. lol

I grew up fishing streams. One of life's treasures for me.

I enjoy the solitude, unfortunately the ability to find places like this on public land is becoming rare. The virus has cleared a lot of folks out of the streams. I'm not a fly fisherman I'm more a chunk it and pray on these kinds of streams, but my fishing partner loves it. He pukes off the side of my saltwater trips and I fall on my @ss in beautiful streams.... it works.

That brings back memories. I don't know how many bird's nests I've had to dig out on the Ambassadeurs and Millionaires in my youth. I got pretty good at it but switched to spinning setups for almost everything about 15 years ago or so.

I use a spinning rod a lot, but I love using good bait casters for hunting reds and trout. Cast under the wind and less take up on landing. But a light jig on a spinning rod is perfect for slinging under the mangroves.
