1st time I ever seen a Sturgeon. That's an at least 5lb Steelhead in there with him.

So Sorry PRIMO I did not see this until now... so here’s my rib method. There are so many rubs out there so you can google it BUT...I found a website that is a big smoking (no... meat and cheese only) website and there is something called Jeff’s Rub and Sauce. Been using the rub for years and it’s nice without the cayenne pepper. Basic brown sugar, paprika, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic, powder and cumin. I use the 3-2-1 plan. Peel out the membrane on the inside of the ribs, coat in yellow mustard and dust with the rub. I let them sit for about 2-4 hours. Then in the smoker running 250-260F for three hours and spray with apple juice, or orange or pineapple juice ever 15-20 minutes. Sometimes I forgot to buy Apple so whatever juice is in the house. Meat slows down in absorption of smoke around 140F. I have acres of oak and maple so there’s the wood I use. I have a few friends that run a tree service and they bring apple tree logs on occasion. After the 3 hours, I wrap each rack in a double layer of HD aluminum foil and make it like a boat. Pour into that boat about 3-4 oz of juice, sprinkle the ribs with rub... usually toss in a pat or two of butter and occasionally, honey or maple syrup.

Fold the top of the foil up tight and then the sides so that if steam had to escape, it needs to work at it to do so. Back in the smoker for 2 hours, same temp. This steaming effect seriously tenderizes the meat. After the two hours, they come out of the foil, discard the foil and juices and back into the smoker for 1 more hour. Once on the smoker rack, sauce the ribs with your favorite sauce every 20 minutes and either let them dry up a few minutes or skip the last sauce step.

Remove and enjoy. Be aware, you will have a hard time picking up a full rack of ribs as they WILL FALL OFF THE BONE ! Take a long spatula or tongs and slip it under the ribs to remove. I’ve had bones just fall out and stay on the grate.

Competition ribs are never this tender. But I do not compete and once you do it this way, you might try shortening the 2 hour step to 90 minutes to make them less tender and find out your preference. My BBQ sauce is homemade and is a ketchup based recipe... for a reasonable start, look up Sonny;s bbq sauce in a copycat recipe on line. Then go nuts and experiment with adding what ever you wanna see as a dominant flavor. Worcestershire sauce, cumin, ginger, get this....cloves(tastes like Beemans Gum).

The dogs are border collies. That smoker in the picture was a 275 gallon fuel oil tank. I made it about 5 years ago, trailer and all. And no, I’m not a metal guy, I knew nothing about this stuff before building that smoker. Even the tools I used to cut the steel might as well been from Fred Flintstone. Labor, labor, labor

Farmall I rarely see one of those bandits here, always surprised me. Somewhere I have some pics of a red fox stalking a woodchuck in my backyard and 1/2hhr battle later the fox got his dinner (lol) I was impressed, the fox laid down next to the woodchuck and rested for 10 minutes before he dragged it off into the woods.
Here's my bandit, needless to say there are no more fish in the pond! :)

I sure wish we could see bears I know there out there but not seen around our area. But maybe I really don't want them around but sure is cool.

Yep those little thieves are out and about our place also. I am watching out for them in the evenings now cause i'm letting our 6month old kitten outdoors bringing her in at evening she's kinda new to the wild ways :)

SoOrbudgal have you seen the Geico commercial where the raccoons are picking thru the trash and he says ‘ those ribs are making my mouth water’ and the other one replies “ nah, that’s just your rabies acting up”. ? Cracked me up

We had a cocker spaniel mix many years ago who would ride with my hubby down the river in his drift boat. That dog would jump out and swim with the otters he'd see. They poked at her she'd look around " who did that" we'd watch and laugh, they knew she was not a threat and teased her.

SoOrbudgal I love watching the otters, they're cute, frisky, playful and just always look like they're enjoying life(lol) Last spring just when the ice was going off I had a mom and 3 pups(kits?) stop by. I think they go from pond to pond through the drainage ditches when they're flowing. I'm more apt to see an otter in the spring.
On another note, my durban sure looks totally different than the one you're growing. Regardless of auto/photo, they really seem to have completely different structures, even down to the buds. You wouldn't know they were both durban strains, I find this really interesting. (please take some additional photos before you chop her, top buds, side views--TIA)
Mine much more resembles the White widow I grew last winter, every time you think the buds are fattening up, they grow a 1/2 taller (g) Chilly 11 degrees this morning :)

OK GreenState I'm going to do some scope checks this a.m. Both my autos are close to 80days from seed, it's really crowded in my flower tent so they are being shoved off to the sides as i'm trying to get some control over the massive photos in there. These are the longest oldest indoor vegged photos I've grown and to me it's going to be a wild ride bending and pulling braches away from the center. Photos coming sometime today ;)

Is it cool to post short videos I’ve taken with my phone? I never see anyone doing that.

I’ve tried it once but it didn’t seem to work.... maybe I did it wrong but, that s as far as I took it

I was following a transport on the highway last summer and watched one of these fall off of the trailer going 110....so there's that...
