A matter of Watt

HAPPY ALL HALLOWS DAY, HALLOWEEN, SAMHAIN!!! Can anyone answer this. Im sure you can!!! I am currently using cfl lights in my grow. This is my second grow and during the veg stage they say to use daylight bulbs. I am currently running 143 "True" Watts of daylight bulbs, but i can also run 285 "True"Watts of soft white light during flowering. Would it be better to use the lower wattage daylight bulbs during veg, or is the axiom of more watts is better, as when in flowering stage, also applies for veg stage? Any ideas?

I veg at approximately 1/2 the wattage I use in flower- I'm discussing true watts, the amount the light pulls at the wall- not the LED/CFL equivalent.

The plants end up 1/2 the size in the veg tent as they are in the flower tent and I try to provide 25-30 watts per plant.
Once in the flower tent the wattage is doubled, as the plants are full grown and I try to provide 50 watts per plant.

This may or may not be what you are looking for.

Happy day to you Cracker! It may not be a science based answer, but I have grown some fine looking (and producing) autos with as many 60 watt daylight bulbs as I can manage to surround the vegging plant, and continue to flowering with soft white bulbs around the much larger plant, until I have 8-10 of those bulbs reaching as many nooks and crannies as possible in my setup. Seems to work nicely for me.🌻🌻🌻
