400 or 600w bulbs?

Hey guys, quick question for you. I'm starting to amass the equipment for my first grow. I've decided to use soil in the Apollo 3' x3' x 6' tent. Would you go with 600w or 400w mh/hps bulbs? I'd like to work my way up to 6-9 ounces per harvest. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thanks, I'm leaning that way. I'm planning on putting the tent in the basement, so the extra heat would probably help anyway, right? I guess I was just trying to save a couple bucks if I could. Thanks for the response!

3x3 is the perfect space for a FULL 600w usage,will reach the corner of the tent without loosing so much,im in a 5x5 and im very happy with my MH until now,will see HPS in a couple weeks when i flip! Welcome to the forum Ruby !!Also what kind of reflector are you gonna use?

I have a 4X4 with a 600w and its perfect, you should be fine but watch the heart in there cause its going to get hot!

Most of the gear I'm planning on getting is what's recommended by the GWE "shopping list". The reflector is air-cooled, made by Hydro Crunch. Looks like it's compatible all the way up to 1000w mh/hps bulbs. I'm really excited to get this grow going! Thanks for the welcome and your input!

Hydro Crunch Large Air Cooled Grow Light Reflector with 6" Duct & Glass Panel i found on amazon is like the spuDnik i wanted to buy (not sure if this one has rubbers on the edges to keep it sealed) but this should do any job you want it to do You are now dancing with time Ruby!!!
