I'd have to agree with Franklin. To much water indeed.
I would also be weary of that medium if i were you. Tree barks can hold a lot of moisture for a long time.

I generally start with a quarter of recomend nutrients dose and move up from there. Never really exceed half the recommended with autos in particular.
Are you giving nutrients every watering? If so, I would suggest doing so every other, or every third.
About the pH, if your target is 6.0, yes I would think 5.8 could get ya there. Good luck!
