SOIL 30 days from seed, live soil

How’s it looking? Free gelato auto seeds from NASC. It’s been 30 days since i put them in the soil. It’s live soil so all I’m doing is watering. I’ve been told they are a little slow but that just means they are special.

Below is 34 days, i feel 4 days really makes a difference

For an auto they are way behind my friend. But I'm not sure they are autos for being 34 days and not even preflower. I love nasc. Great company.

They look fine. Some just take longer than others. Typically free seeds means older stock so it may just be the seeds had less energy from the start. It happens.

30 days since you put them in the soil, but how long since they popped out of the soil? If it was 7 days then I would say they seem to be relatively on track

Yea it took them 6 days to pop out of soil.

With living soil, you will still need to top dress a time or two. You should also add some teas to it - I do mine roughly 1x per week.

Not sure how much experience you have with living soil/organic growing so I don't want to give info that you already have/know, but I made the mistake of not adding anything but water with my first organic grow and it was less than optimal. Check out Earth Dust - I've been using that and it's gotten me amazing results!

I have 0 exp with living soil lol. This is my first grow indoors and first grow with living soil so its a learning experience. I followed the guide on here for what to do.

I was running lights for 20/7 but i just switched to 22/7 since its cold down here.

Do you grow autos or photos? If photos im thinking maybe thats why you had to amend to the soil?

Photos. And you are correct, with the shorter growing time required for Autos, you may not need to top dress or amend the soil. Just listen to your plants and if you see that they look hungry, think about doing a quick tea that's well-balanced.

Thank you so much for that link. A lot of good info in there. I think I’m going to order a moisture meter because last thing i went to do is over water.

I did notice my top new leaves were really bright green. I think plants were telling me the light was too close so i moved them up

A moisture meter is helpful to help you learn what a good level of soil moisture feels like. It's also good for checking the moisture deeper down in the soil and at the roots.

A little trick is to take a handful of soil and squeeze it. If it stays together but crumbles when you touch it, it's good. If it stays together (or water squeezes out of it) it's too moist. If it doesn't stay together at all, it's too dry.

OH you get hands on with your soil lol im more of a just poke my finger around and see. Im using Coco loco if that changes anything. Im not very good at visual though so im happy to learn about the meter. Im a numbers guy so this is perfect
