3 weeks in and already made some mistakes.

so I started with some rapid rooters and got a small 2' T8 light for germination. Within days I got my first sprout but screwed up as I had the light about 8" above rooters. So my first three sprouts were stretching big time. I realized this after about day 10.
I fix the situation and adjusted all the plants to be about 1-2 inches from light.
While waiting for them to get a 3rd set of leaves I prepped the 2x4 tent and pots for transplant.
Tent setup is 2 advanced platinum 300w. Coco coir premixed medium.
Out of the 6 seeds I planted 1 died and 1 didn't sprout. As the one died I quickly planted another seed that has a similar grow time as others. That one with correct lighting sprouted fast and grew 3 leaves pretty quickly.
2 of my original seeds have little yellow blotches on them. I check PH and that's in the zone only thing I think I forgot is the cal-mag.
Is the cal-mag kind of needed for coco coir soils. All plants have all recieved exact same doses of food and water so I'm curious if the cal-mag may be the issue.

I'd say cal mag supplementing is a must for coco unless you have really hard water. Surely it shouldn't be deficient so early though... Should be able to give pH tap water only for about two weeks
 
The tap water PH is at 7.3.
It could be shock also bc the pic with one with more leaves is growing really well atm cept for the color on bottom leaves.
I don't know if it could possibly be transplant shock
 
pH should be between 5.5-6.5 for coco. Some forum members say always 6.0
 
Yes fox farm Big Bloom but only half the dosage for seedlings/transplant. And only once the the 3rd leaves had grown out.
 
the second photo looks like possible nute burn. I could be wrong though.
 
I write everything down when watering so I can keep up with what I give my plants and when because I'm a top contender for the most forgetful person on the planet. I use the notepad on my phone, it's more convenient. Don't sweat the mistakes. I'm 8wks in and I'm still making mistakes but each one of them is a chance to learn...like the light on your seedlings...you learned, so now you never have to make that mistake again.

Temps, humidity, light distance and pH all sound pretty good (you probably already know that if you've been reading the GWE website).

It's defiantly a learning experience I just don't want to screw them all up. Like you said I will not make that same distance mistake again. And next run I may just go with a soil setup although I'm sure by end I will get the nutes down to a science. /crossfingers one thing I will say for these LED lights is get the good eye protection without them my eyes were killing and with them no issues.
 
I just ordered Leds they'll be here on the 20th and I didn't know they hurt your eyes w/out the glasses. I thought the glasses just allowed you to see the plants in a more natural color. I mean, I figured they weren't good for your eyes but didn't think they would be hurting that quick.

Yes I got 2 types of LED glass one that light corrects. I got the method 7 operator Led glasses (light correct so plants look natural green color.) and another pair that I don't know name but lights are still purple but I guess they protect eyes. The method 7 keep my eyes from hurting but reflections from the Mylar get under them and strain my eyes a little

Everyone gave good advice so I'll reenforce the essentials

When your grow started you're on a time schedule tick, tock so now three weeks have passed and your plant looks like a week old.
What can slow down the progress is temperature, PH and water and light.

So you are mother nature and you can't afford to loose this grow!

You have 2 ph levels in the coconut coir in the water that goes in and you check the water going out.

I like 6.00 ph because you can watch the plant respond to it, you pick a number in the desired increment and stay with that one number the entire grow.

And the led's coming out at the moment are very new and if they gave you glasses I'd wear them, we only have 2 eyes and they don't care if they blind you.

The stuff you're growing in has nothing in it food wise, so the cal-mag is very important to use with lets say flora-series (your nutrients.)

Follow this and you will have a good grow if those pics are recent I'd start on week one.
