3 Questions About Making Dry Ice Hash

1) If i'm planning on making dry ice hash out of trim, but my hash collecting bags haven't arrived yet, how do I go about storing my trim (leaves). After all, it is plant matter, and plant matter decays, innit.

2) Are dry ice hash bags the same thing as bubble bags? Like will this be what I need:

3) Is it worth making dry ice hash if my sugar leaves aren't particularly resiny? Like i'm growing a straight sativa, and i'll be honest, it's not very frosty.
I'm only planning on putting my sugar leaves in the trim pile, so don't know if it will add up to anything significant.
Or is it a matter of blind faith, just go ahead and do the extraction process and be amazed at what will come out?

I can only answer question #1 - Put your trim in a jar (or container of some kind) and freeze it till you are ready to use it.

well I'm yet to make hash my self.
so I did buy filter bags for making bubble.
and my trim collection won't be that much ether.
I've been watching a lot of
"how to videos"
and I see a lot of guys putting there trim in a plastic bag then stored in the freezer until the have a "shoe box size"
frozen bail. Then chop it up with a big carving knife when reday for ice water. So freezing it will only make trich's brittle and fall ta the bottom easier when ya come ta use it.

Now dry ice I know nothing about so I can't say much about that.

so if ya don't have much trim.
just keep putting it in the freezer till it's worth your while.
also I've been keeping fan leaves separate from trim.
Cuz looking at them closEly, they don't have anything on them worth talking about. so I'm probly just gona toss those out.

yeah bubble bags are the same thing, designed for a different process but will still do the same thing.

You may or may not get a whole lot out of it, but some is better than none.
Or you could store it and add it to the trimmings from next grow.

I just dry my trim in a thin layer in an open plastic bin/container, then I store it in a baggie.

I've only done dry ice hash with a Bubble Magic so far, but I bought some cheap micron bucket bags and I "intend" to use dry ice with them. I'm pretty sure they'll work fine.

I made my first dry ice hash with leaves from an AK-48 and I was very surprised at how much kief I got off leaves that didn't look very frosty at all. Go for it

Ive done two runs withe the bubble bags of the dry ice hash. Super easy!

So once you start seeing crystals on the leaves should they be saved? Or not worth it?

Armadillo, I store my trim in a brown paper bag in a cool dark place; I open the bag a couple of times a day to let it breathe, and I give it a few gentle shakes to move stuff around. I wait until the grassy smell is entirely gone, and it starts to smell like the good stuff. I don't put too much trim in one bag (got a bunch of those lunch-sized bags) so it will dry quicker.

I didn't write down in my journal how long it took, but I think it was around 2-3 weeks before it smelled right.

It looks like you have the right sizes of micron bags.
