This is my 2nd grow, and I actually have about five more weeks to go before I harvest my first grow.

Here's my little grow area I've got to work with.

On Sunday 12/31/17, I broke out a seed from the fridge and put it in a wet paper towel, then I placed that on a plate and used a wax burner under the plate to keep it warm.

On 1/1/18, I noticed we had a little root tip emerging. I let it sit in the paper towel the rest of the day and over night, when I get off in the morning I plan on putting her in the soil.

Checked on her around 12 today and she was just beginning to peek out of the soil, this picture is about 8hrs later.

FFOF has bugs in it. Bought happy frog for first grow and it had gnats and now this shit has gnats and looks like black flies. So I sprinkled some diatomaceous earth and put up a yellow sticky trap. How soon is too soon to treat with Azamax or SM-90?? anyways, I think this just did it in for me with the fox farm soil.

I've been hearing more and more issues with the best selling brands and bug problems. The legalization occuring everywhere is driving up demand especially on top brands because more and more people are referred to them by older growers. This high demand brings lackluster quality control and crappy care for their products. It's all about making some money while not really worrying about the consumer. You will see more and more of this with mainstream grow industry products in the upcoming years.

Urbz yeah it sucks. I always thought FF was like the go to for everything. Might just look into some local stores for my soil next Grow

That's what I use. The only thing that I do is add more perlite to the mix but other than that it works just fine. It costs me 12.50 $ for 2.0 cubic feet locally.

Make your own super soil, it take a lot of space and time but it can be done.

Sounds grat last time I made Super Soil we just called it compost, these are all the old ways for Bio-Dynamic farming. I once lived on a 150 acre bio dynamic farm. I learned to make the compost for my own garden when I had a 10 acre spread a few years back.

So it’s been about 10 days since she broke the soil, is this slow growth for an auto??

Its 55 in my tent right now, we had a snow storm last night and my damn luck we run out of propane during it so I’m still trying to get the house heated back up.

PS- get you a heat mat off Amazon to keep the roots -soil warm., Vivosun 10-12 bucks.

put some heat in there until you can get a pad, anything to bring up the temp.

If you decide to get a regular heater for dark periods, think about one with a thremostat. I got a cheap one and ended up having to purchase a thermostat similar to those used in reptile tanks. We also had to break the little red 'on' light on the heater. Fortunately, it is all working well, but it probably all cost me the same as a built in thermostatically controlled heater.

I got the temp back up to 72, I’m going to purchase that heat mat. It will also come in handy for germination so it’s a win win

I agree, it can be a little expensive in the beginning. Depends on how many amendments you use. I actually want to switch from dwc to mostly super soil grows. Saves time, just water and go. I have a recipe and just about everything for it. Just have to mix and wait.

so I have the temp controlled now, it’s sitting at 72 lights on and 68 lights off
I gave her 2 cups of water this morning with the pH at 6.58
Nothing too interesting going on this week.
