2025 Summer Grow

Just started some seeds. I completed my first harvest at the beginning of this year. I plan to increase yield this next grow. Three out of four seeds I started this last week popped. I'm using regular seeds again so I'll have to sex the plants later. Hopefully all 3 I have so far are female. I also plan to clone for the first time this year too. Doing Coco 70-75% Perlite 25-30%. I tried coco coir and hydroton last year with great results. They have perlite and coco bricks at my local hardware store, so I decided to finally use what everyone else is. Still using General Hydro Flora Trio with CaliMag. Also still flowering in a ~2x3 space with a 100w LED. I have other LED lights I might add later if needed. I also might try flowering some plants in the shed with my old 185w blurple light. I upgraded my nute res to a 5 gallon Coleman blue water carrier. I cut a square for access to mix and test on the top and for the air stones. Now I can dispense nutrients as needed, cooler style. It'll work for a little while. For veg at least.

The evolution of the system never stops. If you are using coco bricks they should be well washed then buffered with calmag before use.

Over 24 hours of growth. They're growing next to some habanero seedlings, which are next to California white sage, lavender, and rosemary seedlings. I think I'm cleansing my plants with my plants. Only good vibes please! I'm spraying 1tsp/gal of each GH bottle with a spray bottle. I see the benefit of going light nutes right from the start.

Yeah the fun of reinventing the wheel over and over. I didn't flush this brick, but I used the other bricks of the set last year and they grew without issue. I did flush the coco last year though by adding calmag and PH'd water to 5.7. I just feel like I just started in a small cell with a small amount of coco/perlite and I will be flushing fast with each feeding of PH'd nutes. When going up to a 3 or 5 gallon container I'll give the coco a good flush of PH'd calmag water.

Number 4 still doesn't appear to have germinated. I have plenty more seeds. I just bought some more coco and perlite, so I'll be ready to repot soon. They got a little bit leggy, but no issue. I moved all my other repotted taller plants to another light and got the light closer to the seedlings at 25% strength. They look healthy, just slowly feeding them. I'm getting my flowering space prepped little by little. I want to try doing a mini SOG setup. I have a bunch of 2.4 liter containers that I can use to grow up to 6 plants together on one LED panel. Which is actually the legal limit here for home cultivation. This isn't a lot, but it's enough for personal use and to maximize the output in the space I have. A small setup helps me learn while having less chance for error.

I just repotted the three seedlings in 2.4 liter containers tonight. I plan to get these to flower in a month or so in small pots. I'll sex the plants, cull the males and clone the females. I also gave up on seed #4 and started another seed. They'll start growing fast soon!

1 and 3 are going strong. They love the old blurple light on just the veg switch. I tried to put number 2 under the same bright blue LED and it burned the tips of the first true leaves :(. It's okay I moved it back to a nursery light and it'll get stronger.

I moved my 100W LED panel back to my flower space. Many of these plants will be moved within the next month. The blurple sure does do the trick for veg, but man that harsh blue and then the red (with bloom switch) are more challenging to grow under. I trimmed the burned tips and the cots on number 2. Part aesthetics and part I want the plant to focus on new growth only. They're all doing well. I got the lower waste tub put in and I gave all my plants a good feeding. I gave number 2 a bit less and didn't totally soak it yet. It probably still needs to set more roots.

Lettuce, 2 cilantro, kale, jalapeño, habanero, and MJ in that pic.
I also moved seed #2 back under the 100W. It's doing well, just growing slower than 1&3.
My seeds are mixed cultivars in a vial so it's random on what plant I'll get, but they're all good strains.
The last one smelled and tasted amazing! It was kinda citrusy and sweet. I was thinking maybe strawberry banana. Could've been another sweet citrusy strain.

The plants are doing well. #1 and #3 are likely the same genetics, they're growing very similar and fast. I'm likely going to top them in a week or less. The new seed #4 popped, but because I had a spoon there blocking the light, it grew out and got stuck at the spoon with a helmet head. It's starting to grow the first true leaves awkwardly. Oh well it'll pair with seed #2 that is growing slowly.

Well I topped Seed #1 and 3 about a week ago. I FIM'd one by accident. It's my first time doing that, so that's cool. Still just vegging them. The little branches are almost long enough to start training. I've increased fertigation. I'll probably flip them to flower in a couple weeks or less. I'll also attempt a clone or two from each plant before switching to flower. That last seedling, #4, is growing nicely now. Seed #2 still growing, but very sadly. I hope it makes it and grows killer bud.

At Week 6, Seed #1 and #3 are doing well (just fun sized). I'm going to flip them in about a week or more. I haven't done any training. The pots are small, so there is only a small amount of spreading out with LST that can be done. I'll tie some branches down tomorrow. Snipping clones really soon. Seed #2 and #4 and doing well. Seed #2 is still pretty wimpy, but mostly healthy now

I switched to 12/12 light schedule last night. The plants did a little stretching in the last couple days that made me feel it was time. We'll see the gender reveal in a 1-2 weeks. Girls, girls, girls....

I started LST day 3 of flipping light schedule. Little late, but I just wanted to push these little plants to flower quick and I couldn't think of a way to tie down. I just used BBQ skewers and twist ties.

Well unfortunately seed #1 was a male. However seed #3 is a female! She started flowering a couple days ago. Today I could definitely confirm. I have the other lame seed #2 in the back. I can't tell yet. Seed #4 is growing very well under my nursery light. I'll probably wait to veg it a bit more before flipping. I still haven't taken a clone because I wanted to wait until I could sex the plants first. I found one good small soft branch near the bottom of seed #3 that I'm going to take soon to try cloning. I would love to make a mother plant and keep slowly in veg for a while.

She's a growin'! Seed #3 is growing very quick now! Buds started forming. I started transitioning into flower nutes this last week. I grabbed a small branch clipping from the bottom like 4-5 days ago. It's in a small dish of water with really light nutes and put near the nursery light (not directly). I don't see any roots yet, but it's still healthy. Also no real strong odor yet on this plant, but perhaps gettin a little grassier smelling. I'm excited! (Also I know the humidity is a bit high, but I live in the world's largest temperate rain forest... There's a lot of trees and other flora, a lot of rivers and lakes, and a hell of a lot of ocean :tongue-out:)

Still have the other plants. Seed #4 is doing awesome and seed #2 is still growing slow, but still looks green.

Buds are starting to get a little stick and smell to them. It’s still faint, but likely gonna be a powerful aroma. Looking forward to seeing it grow big buds (relative to size). Leaves are changing shade of green a little darker. I’m going to defol soon. Now I have to be super careful removing the leaves.
