2025 Solo Cup Grow- A Challenge for all growers

Hmm, would it still be a solo cup grow? Isn’t just an pot into a bigger pot? 😅🫣
What’s in the bigger pot? Just cloth for insulation? And watering?
 
I really like the idea of the solo cup challenge. I will join next time, iam still at my first grow, which goes well =)
are these solo cups 500ml?

I must warn you all, I believe someone may have bred some seeds for this challenge and selected the genetically superior solo cup seeds.

Eerrr... JonnyBoy I was tossing and turning about this all night, and you might have set me straight.
The SCC is to grow a plant in a Solo cup by whatever means. Hydro/soilless people have always done better. To answer your second question, yes, it is a pot in a bigger pot. It's a hydro setup.
As it sits, I do not think it can be a legit entry. Thing is, roots are going to grow out the holes of the cup which means the plant will not be growing entirely in the cup which means it is no different than growing in a proper hydro basket, savvy? I'll probably be putting a cloth bag of some sort in the cup to keep the roots growing out.

Edit. Problem solved. Sewed up a thing to make a bag. Roots will be contained. I am legit.​

Day 4 bloom

Took the solos out for pix today which is day 4 past flip. They are starting to stretch.

Thanks for asking Bluey. I'm a little more gassy than usual, but otherwise better than I thought I would be. It's like mourning someone terminal when you have to weigh witness-to-suffering against pulling-the-plug. When the time comes, it's not so hard. sniff... sniff...
If I woke up one morning and it was dead but healthy the night before, yeah... I might shave my head.
The little thing served a purpose. 'twas a guinea weed. Pure experiment. Much came from its short life.

coco/perlite. They did get a little dry, and I was late today getting to tend them. Yesterday was hot and solos only hold so much water. They perked up after watering. Such is the life of a solo cup plant.
 
It's killing me to watch you people have success. I mean, I'm happy for y'all, but y'all make me jealous for doing something I failed at.
