2 weeks away

I'm a week or two away from flushing, pistils just starting to turn in and Trikes are showing a few cloudy heads. One observation that I'd like some input on: The roots are starting to show some green on them, most likely algae, and I've never had this problem before. because it's a single plant I'm growing in a smaller (4 gallon) 6 hole container. Do you think the light in the other 5 holes is causing the growth? Seems like the green is only on the parts nearer to the surface. I always had nice clean looking roots in all my other DWC crops, right up to the end, and have had in the past one or 2 holes open to the light.

Also while I'm posting, the leaves on the upper part of the main colas are showing (I think) light stress, edges turned up more and more, with the very tips showing a little discoloration while turning down. I've got the light (400w HPS) 12+ inches up and my meter shows max of 900, way less than full sun. This morning I noticed the tips are turning up on some of the last fans, but no further discoloration. Think it could be something other than the light? I've been using Hydro Guard and Cal Mag throughout the grow, rain water for the last several weeks. I'm not too concerned at this point cause it's so late in the game, just wondered for next time what everyone thinks.

Buds are real tight, 23 nice colas and a bunch of little ones below. I'll try taking some photos soon. I think I'm going to try germing some free non fem seeds I have kicking around before I start another premium seed. Oh yeah, Amsterdam Big Bud is the strain. I've had real good luck so far with them, also got good results from White Widow and Portella in the past. I still have a couple of the BB fem seeds left, otherwise I'd be trying something else for a change of pace

I know, light's not the best, but you can see the leaf reaction. I'll try taking some incandescent pics at the end of today's cycle.

COVER THOSE HOLES!!!!! I use aluminum foil. You don't want light getting down into your res.

Hi Muley

The buds look nice ..I grow dwc and I put the six holes in my first container but you don't need 6 I put 4 or one time 3 . It's your access to the res. just make sure the holes aren't right next to the plant , I buy the 4 way manifold and only hook 2 up. Light in the res. isn't good things will grow.
You did good!

New pics, 2nd attempt with regular light. Covered the extra holes, but kind of late in the game. The manifold is kind of whacked because it never grew a third node with opposing branches, I just left all three and it grew out fine, gave me 3 times 2 times 4, only one didn't grow out to be dominant, so I ended up with 23 mains. I just put 6 regular "free" seeds in the germinating towel, no idea what they'll be, and I decided to save the last 3 fems I have for next fall. Too hot to grow here in summer without A/C.
