I watched a you tube video of a guy who did the exact thing with neem, thought he'd killed his plants but they are not dead. Ugly but salvageable.

ellz If it makes you feel any better, I spent a ton on my first grow (including over $300 for an Aergogarden and $350 for terrible LEDs from 2008) and I never even made it to flowering. My second attempt was equally expensive and lost all 3 to root rot. I had another plant that Nebula accidentally fell on and killed.
I promise, once you can get to harvest, it's an amazing feeling and worth the work. Even if you don't like the process, harvesting a bunch of cheap weed is just great. Also, every grow past your first gets cheaper since you're paying for materials the first time. Growers don't talk about it, but we all make mistakes and sometimes we lose plants. In fact, a lot of the "problem pictures" on our website are our own plants. 😅 Don't beat yourself up; hop back on that horse as soon as you feel like it!

As is recommended here on the site, the Monterey Garden insect spray really nailed the spider mites for me. The plants actually seemed to like it. I put the recommended 4 tablespoons in a gallon of water and just saturated the shit out of the plants. and the top of the coco. It has spinosad which is non toxic to humans and is OMRI listed. Look it up on the site here.
Spinosad Products (safe & organic) – Spinosad products are organic and unlike many other spider mite pesticides, completely harmless to pets, children, and plants. Unlike many insecticides, you can spray spinosad heavily on leaves and roots with basically no negative effects. Spinosad products can be used directly to kill spider mites on contact, but can also be used when watering plants to systematically kill spider mites via the roots. Spinosad can also be effective at fighting caterpillars, thrips, and many other marijuana pests.
Can be used both as a topical spray like Azamax and Mighty Wash, and can also be used directly at the roots. Spinosad is an organic insecticide made from the fermentation of a specific soil bacteria (actinomycete Saccharopolyspora spinosa) and kills spider mites via ingestion or contact by affecting the insect’s nervous system. Spinosad can be a good choice for organic and outdoor growers, because it is very toxic to spider mites, but is less toxic to many beneficial arthropods.
Note: Most spinosad products are effective for only about 24 hours after being mixed with water, so only mix as much as you will need per application. Anything left over will be waste. You will need a mister (also called a “One-Hand Pressure Sprayerâ€) to spray all the leaves evenly.

I've used spinosad for aphids in the veggie garden. In small doses, it is pet friendly. It is the main active ingredient in my dogs flea pill, she's a little dog too, so I'm extra cautious with her.

ellz I feel you, man. What you're describing is exactly why I always say growing weed is not easy at first. Or, should I say, growing mediocre weed is easy, but growing great weed takes practice and a lot of money. If I vape my own weed for the next 25 years, I may make back my investment...
Looking back over the past 4 years during which I've spent so much $$$ fine tuning my grow room, I would not say that growing weed is for everyone. In the beginning, the problems seem to come thick and fast as we learn ropes. I have a buddy who's on his second grow, and he has experienced all sorts of problems on both: light burn, nute burn, hot temperatures, root-bound plants that never bounced back, weak ass weed at harvest. I try to point out some things to him, but he has to learn on his own terms, I reckon. Just like I did: I had a terrible case of root rot on my second grow, but I took care of the problem ($$$$$) and it didn't return.
Starting year 5 I would say that it's getting better. I have everything on hand that I need to get rid of any problem I have in my grow room, including pest killers (I haven't had spider mites, but I've had fungus gnats.) But I LOVE GROWING WEED: it's the most fun I've ever had, it's a great hobby for me, and I love producing my own bud. I don't live in a legal state, and the shit that sells around here is absolutely pathetic. One guy was selling weed that he grew with moth balls in the shed to disguise the smell. That's the level of ignorance, danger to your health and carelessness around here.
I hope you can salvage some bud. The universe doesn't hate you, and I'm really sorry to hear that you feel that way. Life throws shit everyone's way: it's the nature of life. You can handle the shit and bounce back, Ellz. Have some faith in yourself!!!

Alcohol and water solution is the best treatment I ever gave my plants. Work better than neem oil for sure

Fully understand your feelings about it. And in the past I smashed everything sometimes, because it didn’t go as I expected.

But when I do the math of what my yield is, and how much this amount would have costs on the streets. I’m saving about 70% in prices, of from what I’m buying on the streets.
All my power bills through out the grow, can’t even compares to it’s what I’m buying for on the streets or even in a coffee shop

i already told you how crappy my grow was, but I thought a couple of pics would get a laugh out of everyone anyway. I don’t know if you guys can handle seeing these beauties 😂😂
I had to search pretty hard for them. Didn’t take many pics of my butt ugly daughters.
Believe it or not, I actually harvested these after removing all of the foliage, and a week of rotating peroxide soaking, alternating with water soakings.

Hang in there. I made nothing but embarrassing mistakes starting out and I still find a way to mess up a little every grow. Experience will help you beat the odds.

I've scrapped several grows myself. And there was a few that weren't even worth the time I wasted for as little as I got. Been just over 2 years and my yields have just barely started getting better. I've spent quite a bit of money getting my setup right too, or at least closer to where I want it, and I'm sure I'm still not done yet. While it can be a hassle and get very frustrating at times, it's much easier on my pockets than spending a few hundred a month on weed. I'm going to be getting at least triple the amount for a fraction of the cost. Time well spent in my opinion. Has the same thought crossed my mind about giving up on growing? Yeah, definitely. But I had to weigh the pros and cons and the financial aspects of it outweigh everything else, at least for me.
