Hey guys, so after having some watering issues with my first plant i decided to germinate another a few days ago. She just broke through the soil twelve hours ago and she is already working on her first set of leaves. The soil mix im using is 1/4 ecoscraps organic soil, 1/4 worm castings, 1/4 coir, and 1/4 perlite. The first cup shes in is about the size of a solo cup and has about an inch of perlite at the bottom for better drainage. Heres a pic of her btw: http://imgur.com/0MhCkyI

now jack don't freak out when those two little round leafs start turning yellow and dieing that is supposed to happen the plant feeds on them, but if you didnt know that it can really freak you out. good luck

That alltatup that exactly what i was thinking, but ive never had one growing so quick and i freaked a bit.lol and thanks oldjarhead100 thats good to know i will keep that in mind when the cotyledons start to die off as she feeds on them. I just checked on her this morning and she is an awesome shade of dark green. Heres an updated pic btw: http://imgur.com/kcy8SNv

Glad you posted those pics!!! One thing to do immediately is to shroud the glass jar in something that light won't penetrate, cuz you don't want the roots exposed to lights at all!!!

Actually, Jack, as soon as you can, move her into a container where the bottom breathes, and overflow will run off. You don't want your roots to drown or suffocate. Lots of folks on this forum use a plastic cup (like a red one, not an opaque one) and drill or snip buncha holes in the bottom.

Thanks alltatup, she actually in an old peanut butter jar that i turned into a grow pot. When converting i added enough slits and holes along the bottom that when trying to fill the jar with water it drained as fast as i put it in. And then i added an inch of perlite in the bottom before adding the soil mix for drainage. As you suggested i made it so light cannot get to the roots. I wrapped all the sides of the jar with duct tape.lol i dont want to risk transplanting with as small as she is.
