Coco coir - should I make it or buy it?

So, lots of Qs. High frequency fert can easily lead to a bit of overwatering, especially early to mid veg. The plant will get a bit droopy in mid veg...thats ok Fungus gnats too...that's ok, they dont hurt and will go away when you reduce the water a little and/or the plant rockets off growth...

Coco coir - should I make it or buy it?

I dont us e fabric pots with coco. Coco grows are very hard to drown once the plant gets to a decent size...high frequency fertigation is the gold standard with coco.

    SUPER LAZY PHOTO RUN

Well you've already flipped. You can unflip and recover but you'll end up with a rather too large plant for that space. Extra N now won't hurt but Id be winding it back come week 3 or 4 after flip. PS. N can be in a form that flowers love..eg, mag nitrate, pot nitrate, cal nitrate, etc. Edit...

Coco coir - should I make it or buy it?

Don't dry it out. And never let it dry out when growing, unless it is harvest time. Soil grows are very different to coco grows. A coco grow is technically a hydro grow most of the time. The coco just holds the plant up and gives the roots and nutes somewhere to do their magic. pH management...

Coco coir - should I make it or buy it?

Buy the bags. Flush it with a calmag mixture pH6.0 till it runs clear. Done. Add perlite if growing autos for a quick start . If vegging for 60 days or more I wouldnt add perlite but some do. You dont need it for photos.

Coco or soil, that is the question

Coco is my choice for indoors. Id use soil outdoors though. I used soil exclusively outdoors for 30 years and coco indoors for the past 5 years. Coco is better for yields indoors, without question. Also better for pests. Go with those nutes for coco.

What's a better way to take pictures of nugs?

Really good pics come about from growing awesome buds. The sparkly effect from low humidity around 40% will give you the most trichomes for that effect and the camera flash will help. The top two pics are with lights on the bottom two lights off. Excessive trichomes will also cause the sugar...

Reasonably well sealed grow room - closed loop carbon filtration?

I have a pretty well sealed grow room with excellent climate control but have to changeover the air in the room to keep CO² up to the plants. I do this by venting 5% of the air movement from my wall air-conditioner and I have another AC that runs intermittently and removes the heat by...

    Thinking about coco

I've only used coco indoors. 5 grows, all went quite well. I feed between 3 and 5 times a day depending on plant mass and pot size. Every water is a feed around half to ¾ strength of manufacturers recommended nutes. I measure EC, pH & water temp every feed. I've automated feeding from a tank...
