I'm unfamiliar with a plant that looks like this.

All my plants usually look something like the plants on the right. But I got this one, from a seed sold to me as some kind of kush, that grows on the left. It's very hardy and clones easily, but the leaves twist and get weird...I think it's always trying to flower. The seed I bought wasn't...

    Grow lights photo tip

Here's something I discovered that I'd like to share. I'm a photographer going way back, and I've used colored filters for various reasons for 50 years. When you photograph your grow under grow lights with your phone, hold your safety glasses over the lens to mostly color correct the scene.

    No secondary stem growth

I have one plant, about 2-1/2 weeks from sprout, 4 nodes of growth that's not showing any secondary stems growing out of the nodes. Other plants in the same grow, same and different genetics, same nutes and light, are fine. Should I be patient or scrap this plant? Has anyone else grown a plant...

Harvesting for Seeds or CBD strains

I have a couple questions and thought I'd put them together here. I've seen plenty of information about how to determine when to harvest for strongest THC potency. But I can't find anything about when to harvest for seeds or CBD. What do I look for on a plant that has been pollinated, to harvest...

I think there are too many strains.

I think cannabis needs its own version of the American Kennel Club, to curb rampant crossbreeding that will lead to uniformity, and encourage preservation of excellence within established breeds.

    Did I feminize successfully?

I stopped spraying silver on this female plant when these balls started showing up. But at this point there are a LOT of them, and they all seem grouped and arranged more like seeds in buds than pollen sacks. What have I got here? Does this result look familiar to anyone?

    Low-ish Stress Training

I don't know how common this might be, but I thought I'd share how I train plants. I make these M shapes out of copper wire that is malleable by hand but will hold a bend in a growing stem. I don't tie down the plant, I just direct the stems with these. The plant always returns to 'up,' so it...

    Plant First Aid

I've seen some notes here and there on using tape to repair stems that snap under too much training. I figured I'd share a method that works for me. I keep a candle in the grow room and drip a little wax onto the wound while I hold it closed. It's usually pretty easy because most training...
