Life ain't so bad at all

I agree. But, remember, only 24 states plus D.C. allow recreational home grown. (Fortunately, I live in one!) 17 or so states have essentially worthless medicinal laws with weak products. 9 states just reported a rough average of 10,000 cannabis arrests each, mostly for possession. The drug war against cannabis is still being fought.

I didn't realize the extent of it. NORML says:
According to the online database, police made at least 218,152 total arrests for marijuana-related violations last year. (This total is an underestimate because approximately 13 percent of law enforcement agencies failed to report their arrest data to the FBI for 2025. The total also fails to calculate how many cannabis-related arrests are included in the tens of thousands of “unspecified drug abuse violations” reported by the FBI.)

That's insane. They had a chart, and it's funny I got arrested for possession in 2007, apparently at the height of weed arrests (over 870,000 in a year).

It's good to see it seems to be getting better, but it also seems to have stagnated. I saw in the NORML article that the state I got arrested in reported fewer than 100 arrests last year. So things can change... But it's not equal.

Here's where they had information about what people can do to take action to help legalize weed in the US, if anyone is interested: https://norml.org/act/

I’m with chipmunk, never thought 50 years ago weed would be legal in this conservative state of misery..quit consuming in my late 20’s after getting married and having children mainly then be illegal didn’t want to risk it all losing children, arrest record, lose of job and maybe home. But when it came legal in the state of misery the wife said . Hell ya went the full legal route applied for my rec. permit which is 100$ every year can have up to 6 flowering, 6 non flowering and 6 clones under 14”..usually keep it 6-5 at most. I sleep good a night knowing I’m not breaking the law…well state law that is..don’t sell it just enjoy it and gift it our now and then.

Hey Allotrope. If I changed my name on the forum, it could be Isotope. We would be chem brothers!

Yo, Chipmunk.
Right you are. There is a ton of chemistry involved in plant science.
I firmly believe that understanding some the basics work (like pH, cation exchange in coco, light photon flux density and spectrum, among numerous others) can only contribute to a great grow.
FYI, I have fair chem lab in my garage (now mostly idle), but decarb bud in my Blue M oven, make RSO by filtering out raw solution with Buchner funnel/vacuum pump, evaporating solution on my hot plate/lab stand, distill/recover alcohol for reuse, etc.

Toys are fun!

Gifting my ganja bud gives me much pleasure also!

Back in my day I purchased a small clinical lab. I thought I would make my living from the adventure. Well, the rules and regs got so bad I jumped ship. But in the back room I had this huge electron microscope. I got to where I could take these beautiful picts from that instrument. I was going to sell them for educational use or whatever. That went bust also but much fun it was! Then on to my next lab. Glad those days are over!
