Hi all again second time post here! Thanks for the welcome and I hope we can learn more and more and help others along the way!

Just wanted to update you all and ask some questions below. For my last post that didn’t get any attention

​ if you like go check it out on my profile to see updates on plants progress. Lucky for me I live in a legal area to grow plants for personal use only a set number though. Summer splice has ended here. So flowering is coming soon. Atleast I hope so or they will vege out huge and I want them small why they are small.. anyway th a message for anyone help.

• it’s been now well I planted around mid December so it’s been right around 9 weeks now. Pre flowering started about 2 weeks ago I found first spindley little preFlowers or what turn into them. I can or have learned on my first grow how to pre sex or early sex any plant. As I have a micro lenses I can see up close with pictures.
• So to start how do you know when pre flowering is done? Should it be an exact 2 weeks or 3 weeks? Before they start building up size? As it was pre sexed at the earliest sign of a solitary flower that I could identify as not being a seed which all 3 plants from Bag street weed seeds 3/3 have gone FEMALE so happy. I had them all LST bending sideways but I did it a bit late or I didn’t bend the main stem sideways I let I go straight and bent the stems off it.
• Topped them when they had 8-9 Nodes like a month ago.
• Now or 3 days ago I adopted the circle of life approach. Atleast without it being bent at main stem. Just branches. Will it work? They are all twirling and the peaks or colas are pointing up from growing sideways. As I prefer this way instead of just pulling to the side which can give more stress on stems and snapping branches or splitting plants.
• As did happen only a tiny slit at the Top Y stems on one plant I pulled them down to much like FLAT… tiny split in top node knuckle or centre of stem at the top. I left 2cm on top but that’s broken off now and the split or start of one was like a hole slit not slit from the top but the middle and of left another day would have torn further. The pics show a TINY dot that’s the slit I mean. The other branch knuckle split I didn’t picture I just taped up asap.
• The split in the centre of the top Y I haven’t taken off the duct tape so…
• HOW long should I leave it on?? Or is it like bandage should I redo it?
• Will it effect the Y section leaving it on for like 2 weeks? Or should I replace it like check it and replace duct tape if needed. Its only been 3 days of duct tape and one day I staked the two Y branches the night before I have pics I’ll upload. Have a look.

Also I need to Transplant two but one mainly that has not been TP yet the other two have had One. So the first plant I grew was the last female to show. As it was in a medium pot to start out I BELIVE it took longer. Anyway that needs a TP and I have a pot but I must put holes in it.. it has ONE drain hole on ONE side of the pot. Which isn’t going to work. What do you guys recommend? One of my pots has 6 flat circles that are on the bace and it drains fine so should it be fine to cut or drill some decent 20c piece holes or 2cm wide holes. And what about the side HOLE that this pot already has? Should I wrap duct tape around it or fill with a piece of wood then glue or duct tape or LEAVE the side hole and have the other main newly made (when I do) drain holes on the bottom? And let the side hole drain water also??

please give me any advise for a first time grower I hope I’m going ok!

Please see pics. The first group pic was just day after topping. The two on left had female signs and no pre sex signs on the right plant.

The newer group photo is recent and you can see on the single picture on the plant I need to TP (has a white pot) how it’s starting to form a circle of life!

See pot also and tell me if I can use this. I don’t have any more pots I can use and I really would like to put 6 holes in it at base it’s flat and either tape up the big hole or leave it for oxidisation or whatever???? Thanks the main issue is the pot and the hole on the side I need to TP asap.

It takes weeks outdoors to show male or female and happens when you loose daylight less than 12hrs of light triggers it but takes weeks that i've experienced. If those are photoperiod plants anything less than 10gal pots will struggle in plastic gotta make holes. I put small stones in the big bottom holes so soil doesn't run out but if you got high temps those pots will sweat create perfect enviornment for rot so make little holes.

Where you at? Just for references don't need details just country

Thanks for your input I agree I posted to much there. Weed huh. Anyway I’m in Aus. South. So late Feb/summer.

I’ve used powerfeed every 1-2 weeks but worked way up with first dose a 1/3 dose then a 1/2 then full dose from there.

Pulled a male today the pollen sacks came up SO FAST! But I had a odd feeling it was a male from the formation at the flowering or solitary and or pollination sack sites.

the other two are or I did a good check today after washing hands and all. And just threw the male into shoe box in shed. Might make some budder at some point with it. But the other two have clearly got solitary’s that’s are growing now. Like under a macro lenses for iPhone/smart phone little clip over thing it’s great for seeing sex early.

so they look safe and I mean the plant had just come up pollin sacks over two days yesterday rained so I didn’t look hard enough and rain on/in plant I couldn't see properly. But today bam polin sacks. Only small and green none opened.

that was the one in the largest pot. That was male. Also had one of the main branches on node down from knuckle top about 5 weeks into veg. We’re now at 10 weeks. And can’t wait to see bud growth and see it grow in a spiral as it is continuing to grow larger S and or bends in a circle so it’s pretty fun TBH this is why I like growing and then get… sorry rambling on. I had one split on me last grow. Split from the 1st top all the way down to the coco. I ignored it and the plant grew normal with expected high yields.
I topped just under the next pruned node this time, no splitting.
if you read the tutorials on early sexing you will be able to cull all your males long before flipping...its easy with most strains to get 100% success rate...some strains aren't obvious though

Dont bother saving that dead male. You won't get anything worthwhile off of that. Any pot used should have holes to drain at the very very lowest point. You do not want an inch or two of undrained soil at the bottom

Hi there. You seem like you know what’s up! I mean I can always call my dad who has grown all his life but I want to get into the community.. and I am growing. So yeah. Maybe some of my posts, referring to the other comment, might be a bit content heavy. That’s because I’m a content writer. It’s hard to not over do it. Even on txt to my friends or family or work or even healthcare yeah I know it’s weird.. like doing it now…

NEXT is the POT. So CAN I make it into a 4 or 6 hole at the base using a drill?? I can do it to any size holes but I don’t want to big… and I wondered if the male In the bigger pot contributed to becoming male?? Like or is it PURE down to Genetics at that stage and outdoor conditions first grower conditions and also LST first grow and other trim stress only TODAY.

i trimmed today and want your opinion. They look good and I’m doing a version of a circle of life. Without starting out with bent main stem… I was going for Canopy but I figured and read for the plants I want to grow (small stubborn FAT let’s hope Buds) and small low plants for Neigbours and theft sake… as in pots can be picked up and moved.. I plan to put them into the OLD male POT. And the TAN pot after I drill 6 or so holes in the bottom. When I drill should I do MANY SMALLER or 6 large Only or 6 large and 12 + smaller ?? Like standard to any medium pot under or 0.9cm small and large at about 2-2.5cm diameter. So plenty of drainage but I want to make sure… the male I pulled was LEGGY.., hit the base but the main clot of the roots (pulling a male teaches you a lot….!) so the clotting was like a small pot size after I got the dirt out and off it. Like 14x16cm if that.. if this helps in any way… as I want to or need to soon TP BOTH PLANTS to larger pots and it’s starting to flower on both. VERRY early.

Still it’s started I’ve seen stretch happening when I let them off the PEGS I see it about 1ft higher the next morning or when they come off lol.. I wonder if I get the coil to certain point then let it grow out and up!??? Any recommendations from LST trainers??


i know this is MY FIRST GROW. Legit. I have sprouted maybe 10 before for fun or to try but then never did it or broke them or was careless .. now I’m not. I did conservation land management 5 years ago and it made me love nature even MORE! So I know much about drugs in trees and plant and the fauna or life within the flora!

But yeah I HAVE MANY QUESTIONS BUT I WILL USE THE GOOGLE. But I’ll still update here or in a new post as this one may become more of a talk space or a dead post tbh.

here is update on what looks like some true female flower starting to be produced! Both plants show similar heads but this is the main or of the 2 main colas one of them in the picture the other plant was Less flower from like this pre flower flower. As it’s been just over 2 weeks of so since I spotted tiny solitary’s. May need to zoom Atleast I had to to see it. Just happy but I know I need new nutes and I JUST sold something on EBAY to cover it !! So happy. So yeah I’ll get that into them both ASAP after it’s here or purchased. Likely Potash Plus* or a A+B mix if I can find a hydro shop selling it cheap enough or something that’s the same but for other uses..?? Any recommendations for 0-4-4 solutions etc that may be cheap compared to like Cannabis Branded stuff?? It can be varied 1-4-4 or 1-5-6 or 2-8-8 ?? Thanks for assistance so far all!

Look into Dr Earth dry amendments. They work great for soil grows. They're not marketed for cannabis and can be found at Home Depot or Lowes. 👍

Cactus foods have a low N and high P and K like 2,7,7 (in the olden days you had to improvise) but I think it is recommended to use canna specific nutes

Hi all have an update and seeking some big help with Potential Bud Rot or Mould outbreaks having been in a late grower started in December in from Australia South Victoria.

anyone with help here would be amazing regarding the Root rot and what I specify.. sorry it’s super long I can’t help it to provide info… thank you to anyone who takes this seriuu ok is and helps me with their knowledge or what others have encountered in MY REGION or any similar climates for growing and flowering getting wet outside?

should I work on a make shift Cover like with 5 steaks or long wood 4 corners and a higher one in middle to drain? And use a tarp.?? I just hear most and humidity could lead to worst environment than having full water in the plant? Or is that garbage. I mean it wouldn’t cover them HIGELY LIKE over cover but it would cover them On top. Not on sides so side rain would hit them.. other option is my shed that’s v small and I talk about below.. I need stop I’m making this post messy.

Info on my grow etc so I’ve fed with and used Powerfeed Pro by Seasol which is Seasol seaweed mix with NPK added. Maybe some more ingredients too. And lately has been adding POTASH PLUS for flowering and that’s it. The soil had macro nutes and long acting NPK.
I continue Powefeed in Fower at low rates as it’s high N rate but it’s so good I need seasol normal.. the tonic. So I continue at low doses in flowering feed to keep the goodies from the seaweeds extract in the mixture. The plants x2 have lived outside and have had weather all their lives and into pre flower and as we speak.

I have one spot outside I can put them at night but it’s only a little roof sill that goes out 80cm covers the pots when against the wall but side rain will hit them. But plain straight rain won’t get on the buds. But Cant leave them there in the daytime it’s visible from the road. And I don’t have anywhere to cover them… j have a shed? But it’s V small and it also gets like way more humid in the shed and the humidity is already 70-80s… has no openings like a window for air other than the door I could wedge open.. but water could get in .. only the door I could leave open with a wedge..? idk I also work nights so I leave and get back 12pm-1pm next day… can I leave plants in the shed for half the day.. ? Like could I? Or would that mess with it to much? Or if I did it tonight would it be fine for one night?? My only issue is IT COULD RAIN as soon as I put them back outside. So I don’t know if moving to shed would be more issues as humidify and wrt plant in confined area.? . I also don’t have matériels to make a home made cover.. or any were I can put under cover.. I wasn’t prepared..

If anyone can help tell me how or if I already Using Powerfeed and now also Potash Plus for flowering but does Powerfeed seaweed/ Seasol solution helll op fight off Mould and Mildew or Bud rot? I hear it CAN and I have it all its veg life and into flower we are at now. See the updated pics

I just read online Mile Water spray (but has enemy it can cause more issues) so not using that. But Potassium Bicarbonate seems the best answer?? As a spray on I believe. Or maybe as soil additive for Prevention,

but does anyone know about the Powerfeed. It helps with harsh weather and conditions. Which I assume Mould and powdery mildew are included (I hope!)???

if not what should me next steps be?

I’ve had 4 days rain only light showers some for 30 minutes some 1 minute.. but NO SOLID SUN.,, next sun is tomorrow or day after but after about 5 days we have 4 days of more rain or even longer… yes weather dose change on long forecasts I know. I watch it like a hawk atm. But if it’s more or likely correct then I need to feed in between the rain as it will be fully flushed today. But gave 1ml per plant of Powerfeed in middle of rain breaks in low water solution so water in pot would dilute and it rained 5 mins after as I hoped to dilute it a bit more. But not much would have touched it..

I hope I’m not overreacting as it’s or they seem very good for hard weathers have had up to 39* days and low as 7* nights and they aren’t stressed they were from hot and that sun time of summer but I foliage sprayed before flower and face water most days then in lower amounts but kept them hydrated.

Here are pics of my 10 day forecast and remember last 4 days or 3 have had rain light rain but no sun all cloudy days.. haven’t dried and I’ve shook dry like 30 times then it rains straight away after … I hope shaking helps lol.. I must but it’s not like the subs coming out also., it’s still wet and won’t be dry until we get sun… or have days of no rain. Even if clouds.

I Can see some changes on the leaves but I have always had some organic damage on some leaves from bugs like snails or other bugs but it’s never lots of loss or anything and the buds don’t seem to get touched. They probably do.. but I Cant notice anything. I take photos most days of my grow with normal lense and also micro up close to see tricks and or any issues or whatever I close up photo.

if this can help anyone determine possible issues. And or related to mould and whatnot. But I’ve opened a few bud sites and they all look fine. They look sugary but it’s 4th week now on main plant or 3 weeks depends where you start the dating on the Pre Flowers I dated for very small pre flower where most do it later on?? Like some may call my plant buds preflower. As they are still not mature and should grow 4x+ in size at least, as long as nothing goes wrong!!!!

I mean google it’s to many answers.,,, is Milk and Water spray NO GOOD? And what about POTASSIUM BICARBONATE SPRAY on buds? They are most common I know milk is risky for another fungi I hear you can use Garlic? House hold vege oils? Cinnamon? I even heard one person say use Asprin .. in a proper guide lol … no thanks.

frantic it’s getting the better of me and google isn’t helping…, most “Mould” and or Natural “Bud rot” or “Powdery mildew” organic mixes confuse me and many aren’t for buds or infused in them could make them taste funny or have other issues only Porassium Bicarbonate seems to be the answer??? Thanks all. Anything helps even if it’s for my next grow.!!! I can EARY HARVEST.. I don’t want to.., but I could IF i HAD TO the top buds are some what ready like they get you high. But not narcotic it’s cloudy white trucks for rusty energy high but it actually lasts.. and this was tried like a week ago. Or it has more tricks than then.. but yield would be like 7 grams. Maybe per plant. I’m hopping 2-3 ounces even 1 ounce per plant I’m happy. Well not heaps for the effort but it’s enough for first time.!! Was very fun and still is but atm I’m Worried for my babies!! 😫😮‍💨✌️

You've planted 3 months too late for that part of the world and your in your 3rd of 4th cold and wet summer. Conditions have been poor and humidity through the roof...you're options are limited...mold is guaranteed

Wow I had no idea I was that Late I don’t have specific dates I assumed summer but I know I was about 2-3 months late yes. So you think when the next week gets sunny chop the one that’s bigger for early harvest? And let the other grow maybe get some Potassium Bicarbonate and spray?? See if it helps or is this like a dead end stop point for growing. Will any amount of Powerfeed help or remove and reduce the chance or spread of Mould any kind?

also say I pull the one in the pics as im not prepared what generally is best time to do so given my weather? Eg wait until it’s DRY. As well as soil (Unless rain is forecast as it is within a week. And next days rain is expected at very low precipitation % under 10 BUT NOT 0 until Sunday I think.

is there any way I CAN RIPEN THEM? I know you can or even is it worth doing a top to bottom sow harvest? Just so I can see if I can get some of the buds further along??

thank you for your input I’d love to hear anyone else and I’d love to LEARN if there is a WAY to manage late blooms if Photoperiod seeds like do you know anyone who sprays buds when it’s to late with Potassium Bicarbonate?? It’s the only one I hear is safe and the best. The other I hear is MILK WATER… but that would be needed from veg into flower .. for preventative.. even then I may have screwed plants with milk..

please advise given the weather conditions when would you cut or the plant? Sunday -Monday - Tuesday are all fairly clear days so the Buds or plant will be “dry” on the outside at some point.. I hope. If it continues to drizzle over those days what’s recommended pull it when it’s had a good day or two of sun/dry days? As it will get wet again by Wednesday night or Thursday. Unless weather changes… but even if it did in my favour I would be or have to be very lucky to not have issues going full term..

has anyone down south or in Vic gone full term 3 months late and had no issues? And outdoors obviously? I know generally no but I want to know before I cut it if a week or after the next rain it clears for a week of hot sun.. that’s another week or 2 that it’s growing.. BUT I respect the plant also.

so from now until I pluck them it’s going to be a day by day waiting game. i know you Cant pull wet plants or it’s not really advisable? ?? Or is it fine? For a small plant? Or def wait for some or even A sunny day to pull?? Thanks everyone

They need sun or light, and humidity closer to 50 than 80 and temps above 20⁰C. With good air flow....you have none of it
They do not want water or anything that's wet on the buds...rain will kill them from mould as they get bigger. Id be harvesting early if you cant get the right conditions but when is up to you...
