Charcoal briquettes, Cat litter reduce humidity

Any thoughts on using these two products (not together), one or the other, to help keep down humidity and as an added bonus help control the odor.

We are really having a hard time keeping down temps in our tent. We are coming into the final weeks of bloom where temps and humidity are most crucial. We use a dehumidifier to control humidity but it puts out heat and up goes the tent temps. Turn off the dehumidifier and up goes the humidity.

Any thoughts? Anyone ever use one of these products? What would be the downside? I can't see that either would hurt the plants if keep in open containers not touching the plants themselves.
 
Get on the ole internet and search mini dehumidifier...for about 65$ you will find one that puts off no heat and is small...tiny....it does not have a compressor.

I bought one for my veg. area and dropped RH from 50-40

Works well for me.

Something else to think about. I would think you could drill several small drain holes in the small water collecting container, or 1 single one with air hose tube for drainage. This would give you more capacity emptying less often (*just a thought)
 
We are supposed to be getting a break in the heat after tomorrow. I sure hope so. That will help tremendously. High 50s to mid 60s instead of mid 70s to low 80s.
 
Hope you are right. Rock salt didn'the do jack... let me know if you have success with other methods. I'mean dealing with high humidity during dark period.
 
Carisoti, my humidity is not THAT high. Without dehumidifier, it runs about 55% during day, 60% at night when closed up. Using dehumidifier we are able to keep it close to 40%.
