I just ordered a ,,and im wondering if anyone has used this unit and what they thought of it.
also, how close can i get this to the plants without harm. [h=1]Sun Blaze 960293 120-volt T5 High Output Fluorescent Lighting Fixture[/h]
I was hoping to have it closer than the LEDs im using now. During the veg cycle. The LEDs say 18" but that wont leave a lot of head room in my tent. So i thought the T5 would give me the same light but more room. Should have ordered the 6-7 ft tent but wasn't thinking far enough ahead. Mine is 5 ft.
i have a 2 tube T5 that i use for clones and seedlings and ive had it as close as 2" from the plants without harm. But they. Are small bulbs so maybe thats why i could use them that close. The unit puts out 20,000 LM so it should be ok to use at 1 ft. ill post back here once i give it a try.

We used similar fixtures (4 bulb each) but two side by side during our complete veg cycle. Once plants were about two weeks old we kept lights about 8 inches away. Plants are about 2 weeks old in this picture. Soon after this we transferred into 2 gal buckets and keep the lights about 6 inches away.
If you only use them (T5) for vegging then use blue spectrum tubes. You can tell the difference from the flowering tubes by the pink light the flowering tubes put out.

We used 6400K for veg and switched to 3000K for flower. This was before we had the tent up. We bought two big square full spectrum LEDs for the tent. I don't know much about them except they are big, heavy and put out a fair amount of heat. They have the white, blue and red circles (not a very technical description).
I've already decided I am going to soon germinate one of my new bubblegum autos in the basement. I'm going to use the T5s the entire time. I think it will be adequate for just one plant.
3000k might be better for flowering,, at least thats what ive read,,, but think about the color ,K of the sun,,, 6400. And growing out door gave me the biggest buds and most OZs
