How young can you sex your plants

I know you can induce sex to show by switching to 12/12 and then back to 20/4 once males are weeded out. Can this be done while still in solo cup. If done too early, could it potentially stress your females enough to make them hermie on you.

Maybe there is no shortcut for this process, but I hate the thought of putting so much effort into transplanting to 5 gallon bucket (waste of soil for one thing) only to find out it's a boy.

Only buying feminine seeds now, but Nirvana always sends mystery seeds that are unsexed. I wish they would get on board like other seed supplies and send you freebie that is at least some type as you bought.

I wouldn't recommend inducing flowering and returning to veg for the very reason you mention. I have no experience with this, but it seems unnatural and unnecessary. If the genetics are stable, I'm sure you can get away with it but why risk it?

The obvious answer you your question is to add another pot to your regime. A 2 gallon maybe?

I haven't grown regulars yet, but plan to.

Regarding Nirvana, you can always order their seeds from another seed bank. I know attitude and seedsman carries them. Then you can take advantage of their freebies.

Yes, that's what we did we our last grow. Solo cup to 2 gal buckets, eliminated males, but had to do another transfers to 5 gal on remaining plants. I thought it was here at GWE that mentioned putting young plants under 12/12 for a week to force to show sex, than back to resume veg cycle, but now I can't find it. So I must have read that somewhere else, which means, drumroll, that info means diddly squat.

I have put seedlings on 12/12 from the start and it didn't stress them, doing it that early it took 3 weeks to show. Have never switched back though, I think the transition time both ways would add another month to your grow.

You do your entire grow, from seed under 12/12 lighting? Don't they start to flower before the plant has matured enough through veg cycle? What kind od harvest do you get doing that?

Yea, I did the whole grow , seed to bud under 12\12. I got about one and a half oz total from 3 plants so you do lose out on yield by doing this.
