Sunlight versus fluorescent lights and flowers stage

First grow, 2nd week of flower stage, wondering about opinions of mixing in real sun on nice days with lights in a grow tent. I got great results in the grow stage with a few hours of morning sun light, the T-12's the rest of the 18 hr day.
I'm wondering how much benefit the full exposure is going to yield in the lower branches bud wise?

Just my personal opinion here, but I just think it is unwise on so many levels, no matter what benifits of a questionably higher yield... I just think the chances of each plant being damaged moving in it and outside, I think of the sunlight heating the pots and killing the roots on the sides of the pot it cooks. Believe me I didn't even think it possible to cook plant roots in a pot, but I've been listening to a guy with a Ph.D on this matter who was all to happy to back up this with proof. Then lets not forget pests that could find your plant and then be brought inside on the plants or you and infest you garden space, I also think of security of someone seeing it. Whether it is legal or not, someone sees you are growing be they a friend or not, I've know people to have someone break in and steal all the equipment and plants, etc... because someone told a friend of a friend what they saw and knew. Oh and then you haven't even considered the fact and point that the trichomes on a flowering plant are fragile and can break in high winds, movement, and that isn't even thinking of the weight of the buds getting so heavy they want to bend and snap branches with the biggest buds on them. I read once of a person moving their plants inside and outside like you are thinking who would later write, a bird or something else big came by destroyed their plant all over their deck and they came home to find it was ruined and they have it everywhere... all that work gone.

Thus my thought is simply to establish a nice safe place for your places to keep them safe from every threat from pests, people, movement, etc... and just patiently wait for the end results... because then at least I know I am going to be able to enjoy them. If you are so concerned about a bigger yield, have you considered upgrading from T-12's?
The only way to become the a good at anything is to read about it and learn all you can about it, and if it's something you love why not become an expert in it? The best place for anyone to start is at the beginning and make sure we didn't overlook anything, so let's go back to the basics.

Very good points, I neglected to point out that most of the sunlight was inside the house by way of my solid glass storm door, so it was a controlled environment, and a handful of outside events. Yeah, I'm old school with the lights, been starting tomatoes plants and other veggies in the cellar for 20 years without fail.. have my eye on T-5's and a couple of LED set ups too.

A plant that has never seen the sun will die in minutes under direct acute exposure to the sun's light. Indoor plants, that would be put out of doors, must be hardened over time and allowed to accept the sun. Your grow light is a pale analogy of a light compared to the even ambient sun in the heat of July.

Good points guys - I was thinking of doing the same today, putting a plant outside - but my biggest concern is bringing pests back inside the tent. I've had spider mites and fungal gnats before, as well as white flies once just when I was harvesting. So, my plants are doing just fine indoors. I'll leave them in the tent.
      Thanks guys.

Dealt with the same mind fuck this week end, figured prevention is key. Mosquito bits once a month to control/prevent gnats( I had it bad), hydrogen peroxide spray for eventual powdery mildew once a month as well and pyrethrum fogger inside early on flowering... I kicked all my veggers outside last night! I can dedicate more amps to my flower room like this and it keeps temps down since the veg room is dark. Proverbial 2 cents...

Just put them on the window sill- problems solved
The additional sunlight, alone is enough to grow a plant!

I routinely grow in a glass case (LED) next to a fully exposed south-east window.

It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

ID:	96624 Just got home, it's 89 outside, first time meeting the sun after months under t5s for the dark green girls on the pic. They did not flinch a bit. They've had a mix of sun and shade since 8am. Cannabis is a tough plant, I try not to baby mine too much, it builds their self confidence!

Hot here as well. I started 3 autos 13 days ago into 5 gal pots inside under 600 hid. 3 days ago I decided to try the inside /outside combination for veg. 3:00am to 9:00am 600hid. 9:00am to 5pm out in sun. 5:00pm to 1:00am back to 600hid. Bugs be damned. Plants seem to be handling it well. If they die they won't be my first disaster 😜

I like the spirit Sam!!!! Feeling double happy in this decision. With the veg room closed now down and the flower room in the dark during daytime, 91 outside and a badass 73 inside!

I hate mites. cool to hear all the good reports. I have only had one outside plant that lived. It was ok, about two ounces. I noticed mine was very sensitive. I'm glad it's so easy for you guys. I had to create elaborate schemes to protect my plants. The sun killed one. Lizards a second and the wind killed the third plant.

I know exactly what you mean about having to create elaborate schemes for your plants, we get winds here that tear the metal signs right off the metal posts or fold the metal sign in half around the metal pole or in some cases even fold the sign and post down to the ground where the metal is bent down within a couple of feet of the ground. So I can only imagine the terrors you must face in growing in your climate.

I moved my plants outside every Sunny day, they loved it. It was spring sun so not as intense as summer sun . If you do use sun you will want some shade cloth or plastic over head to let your plant get hardened off to the sun. It was a bit of extra work moving them in and out. Good luk

My first thought "Hot Boxes", gives you so many options and if you build them right you can even get two crops a year outside by being able to control the early nights to promote flowering

My 3 autos are doing fine at what must be about a month as I'm seeing sexing. Inside and outside seemed to work fine, got some real sun and back to the 600 hps now. Staying inside now hiding from all those nasty bugs that come at flowering😎
