    Curing and mold

Getting close to harvest and have a short, four day get away scheduled around same time. Not sure how this is going to play out but have a question. If harvest is dried and placed in jars, will not burping for 4 days be detrimental to cure or will mold start that quickly? I may have to wait a little longer than I normally do to harvest (more amber). Kinda playing the waiting game now and trying to figure out best options. What do you guys think? Do you think switching to lower wattage CFL's would slow down development of trichomes?

Someone needs to invent air tight containers that will open and close again on a digital timer or hygrometer controller so that people can cure their product if they have to go away during the curing process.

If someone makes this happen I only want 49% of the profits!

Depends on how dense the buds are and how dry they get before you jar them. I can't say I've ever left them that long at the beginning of cure though. I'd think you'd be better off leaving the lids half off; you can always toss Boveda packs in if they get too dry when you get back but if they get moldy they're garbage.

      hmmm.
      that's a good question.
My understanding of a ripening crop
is that once she's exshausted her life spand.,that's it she's done, no matter what the light is.

some guys stick there plants in total darkness the last 3 or 4 days.
and is suposed to double the trich's and make em more potent.
I've never done it, but that's the rumor..

if anything i would do that.
the day you leave kill all your lights till you get back. make sure your fans are running the hole time and that your temp is where it needs ta be cuz they could mold in the dark as well.
but as long as your fans are on and it's warm enough the only thing I can see is your Trich's doubling.
then chop em when ya get back...

But this is what I would do...so..

        lol... Yeah.
cut a hole the size of dryer vent on top of a tupperwear container. The 1 with the flaps that mounts to the outside of the house, attatched to a small motor then pluged in a timer...😅

The day before you leave- simply cut the plant at the soil level and hang it whole.
I did this for 12 days and was fine, so 4 days should be no problem.
It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

that will work if the plant is ready right before going away, won't help much if its ready the week before

There is a harvest window to work with and you can leave for 4 days almost anytime during curing, except the first 3 days.

Weed Pharma, that was one option I am considering. Water heavy the day before chop and hang entire plant without any trimming to slow down drying. Might be harder to trim after drying but better than losing entire harvest. It all depends on when trichomes start turning amber....
