    transplanting

How deep do you plant seedlings when transplanting?

    #2
if you can see the taproot try to plant it (the root itself) as deep as it already is.....but.... VERY VERY importantly, without damaging it. that is, don't mess with trying to get it to the accurate depth so much that you damage the taprooot itself. so it's a little bit of a judgment call type thing once you see what you're working with, if that makes sense.

if you can't see the taproot then try to plant to around the depth of the container that you are transplanting from.

I bury mine as deep as I can almost up to the first stems , this allows you to start lst or mana folding . the first pic is of clones but you can see how deep they are the second is a seedling im transplanting and it went in till the bottom branches were about 1/4 inch from the coco. Bob is correct that if you damage the tap root its all over. good luck and keep us posted

when I grow outside I plant right in the ground (no pot) I do this by digging a 5 gallon hole then filling with my grow medium. if you plant them beside a tomato or pepper plant they remain almost invisible until late in the year

When should I start fertilizing (they are about three weeks old) and we're growing them outside.

Is the soil amended? With what? Have you tested the pH of the soil you're planting in, just to know/be sure?

my outside grows I start with a mix of compost ,promix, peet moss,vermiculite/perlite ,lime ,plant tone(organic fertilizer ). I fertilize if the plants are looking for something I do give the macro nute once a month and bloom when the ambient light is at 14 hours ,depending on the strain I will add pk boosters every watering . with amended soil you should be ok for a little while and the roots will search out nutes as well
