    It's flower time!

Howdy fellow farmers. I'm in week 5 of veg and next weekend I'm switching the girls to flower. I lollipopped them today not extreme but as much as I thought I would take without hurting them. Should the darkness (lights off) before switch be 24--36 or 48 hours? Also should I top the girls after switching?

You don't have to put them through such a long dark cycle. I have read that some people do that later in flower to speed things up or to encourage trichomes. They will make the switch fine with just 12 hours of dark and with less stress. IMHO

Ongoing debate about darkness before flip. I didn't on this grow, haven't seen notable differences doing it in the past.
No topping after switching, you'll be sending mixed signals to the plant. Telling her to grow flowers and foliage at the same time. Bad idea imo.

I agree with Lucky... too late for topping. They look great!

Thanks for the comments and feedback. After looking at some of the other setups I noticed just how much of an amateur I am. Definitely have some work to do as far as clean up and organization. Also agree with a comment with the comments about cleaning up between grows. So post harvest I'll take care of that. Again thanks and more pics to come.

Things can get a bit untidy pretty quick with power cords, ducts, trays, scrog screens, etc. It's nice to work in a tidy space but sometimes space size, layout etc make it a bit more difficult. As long as it works that's the main thing.
Definitely clean the space between grows, helps prevent the spread of bugs, spores etc.

I don't think additional dark time will make a difference. We all call it "flipping the switch", but it's not that quick and easy. It takes several days before the plants start realizing it's time to flower. Remember, in nature they don't get perfect sunlight every single day until late in the season when it's time to start flowering. There are dark, stormy days too. I'm sure the adjustment time is evolution protecting it from being tricked by days like that.
