    Weird trichomes

Had a friend drop by with some Blue Dream he had scored "on the street". They were nicely trimmed buds but when I looked at them with my microscope, there had very few trichomes and the ones I could see looked like salt stalagmites. Not sure if lack of trichomes is from mechanical trimming but the trichomes I could see looked weird! Checked out some of my year old buds and the trichomes looked like the day I jarred them. Anybody seen this before? Another reason why I like to grow my own!!

Interesting read, 9. Still didn't see what was on friends buds. Looked like pillars of salt with no bulbs on ends...

PuravidaC they look like pillars of salt because they turned around and looked at Sodom.

I'll take massive amounts of capitate triches any day...

Yeah that guy know what is talking about. He's not a grower expert in his own method. He has spent his life learning and documenting so he knows more than anyone about many stuff. Nobody has seen more gardens than him. I trust his word with my life haha

Wish I had taken a photo, they looked so different than any of the attachments, but they have gone up in smoke! 😆

Haha now we'll never find them. It will become the legend of the weird tricomes. Have to wait till they show up again

        Great link fingerleafs, thanks.

I imagine there's a bunch of things a grower can do to mess up the surface trichomes. Washing weed too aggressively, heavy handed trimming, trimming machines, vacuum bagging, crushing during packing and transport, freezing and thawing the weed, freezing and shaking buds on a micron screen to take some kief "off the top" of your yield etc.
This is why I love to grow and smoke my own weed, I know exactly what has happened to it
