    coco coir question

So for my grow I will be using coco coir and perlite as well as a few gallons of rich black dirt to fit in 3, 5 gallon pots, the dirt is just a filler because I'm getting only 1 50 liter bag of coco + perlite which would be 4. something each so not quite enough for 5 gallons each, so I'm wondering when do I start adding nutrients? also im
using the fox farm trio, and I don't have a custom
feeding schedule so I will use theirs at 1/4 or half strength, but could I just use their dirt schedule? or would it be different because I have coco and perlite plus a few gallons of rich dirt

    Hey growgroilla,
I start on a budget, jiffy starts to small pots using 40% coco, 30% perlite, and 30% potting soil and the same mix when transplanting to a 3 gallon. Didn't get fox Fram grow big till week 3/4 and only used at 1/2 the coco schedule till week 4/5. In week six I add in the fox farm bloom and tiger bloom at 1/2 the coco schedule started 12/12. Never had a problem with nute burn or deficiency. Every grow is different and maybe I just got luck, but my girls are happy and healthy.
remember that your soil should have nutrition in it and that can make it easy to over do it at first, as the nutrients get used up I would move to the coco schedule and most importantly read your plant's for their needs.
    hope this helps

I did the same thing for awhile added some super soil then coco/perlite works good . now I just use coco/perlite I used the super soil because I thought it would be more beneficial to the plants now I add all the nutes that the girls need , as far as a feeding schedule if you follow it to the letter you may run into trouble they are just a recommendation each strain is different .one thing I do from seedling to bloom is figure out what they will use in a 3 day period this allows me to water twice a week and still let them dry out a little. this is an example THC bomb can be feed as much nutes as you want you can dump PK boosters in and they love it all. Gorilla glue on the other hand will only tolerate 1/2 strength nutes and water ph of 6 otherwise they stop feeding.
