I was thinking about doing a perpetual grow. My idea was to have a 4x4x6 grow box for flower with a 600 watt light. Not to sure for my clone box or veg box on what size I need and all that just looking for advice. What is a recommendation for veg and clone are size?

I think it depends on how many plants you want in veg at the same time along with how many clones. You may want a second 4x4x6 tent. I have a 4x4x6 tent I use for veg and clones. I use two 4 foot, 6 bulb T5's which they seem to love and it covers the entire footprint. You could get away with less lighting for sure, but the price wasn't much more for the 6 bulb ballasts over the 4 bulbs, so I went with that.
A lot of people use their homemade CFL rigs which work well too and is probably a lot more friendly on the wallet. There's a lot of options out there. It just depends how much room you need and how much you want to spend. I have a tendency to over do it at first, so that I have room to grow (no pun intended) if I need it.#TeamAutoMechanics

If it were me, for that kind of yield and size of room I'd get two 1000w HPS's and use it as the flowering room. For the two 4x4 tents I'd use the T5's I linked in the previous post, but I'd consider just using one 8x4 tent instead so it's equal size as the two 4x4's but only 1 environment you have to worry about maintaining, with four 4 foot, 4 bulb T5's and some CFL's to supplement. Just keep vegging in there and throw a few plants into flower each month.#TeamAutoMechanics

It's a grow box that has three parts the whole box is 11 feet long by 4 feet wide. Sorry so inside that box I have 2 4x4 areas and then one 3x2.5. The other space in that box hold all the electrical components.Last edited by Fatcakes60; 04-13-2017, 02:25 PM.

To get a pound a month with a 600W, you'd need to be doing a harvest every month, since a pound or a few ounces over is about what you could expect per harvest. That means you'd need at least two 4x4 flowering spaces with two 600W lights, since most strains need at least two months in the flowering stage, and each 600W needs 4x4 to itself.
It depends on how many plants you want to grow but you'd probably want at least 4 per tent. So you'd need enough space in the vegetative chamber to grow 4 plants that are almost 2 feet tall and would fit a 4x4 (so you can transfer them directly to the flowering chamber and flip to 12/12 immediately), plus room for 4 plants that are about half that size (so they get big enough in time for their turn).
With a 1000W you can expect 2+ pounds on a good grow. So you could have one harvest every 2 months to achieve a pound per month, and only have to maintain one set of vegetative and flowering plants at a time. But it's very important to keep the space cool when you're using a really powerful grow light like that!

Similar to what Nebz said, i have 2 4X4 tents across from each other, flower tent has a 600w HPS with hood reflector and AC unit to keep it cool. The veg tent has a 4 bulb t5 and a 3 bulb t5 both a foot wide "L" shaped setup with fans galore lol i can veg up to 6 3gal pots for months with the light spread.
i am switching to a 315 LEC in the flower tent soon to lower the "bill" cause perpetual setups draw lots of energy and heatPerpetual setup!

I didn't realize you only have 5.5 feet of height. That's almost too short for a 600W. You need 16" between the light and the plants, at least 8" to hang the light and at least 12" for pots. That leaves you with only 2.5 foot tall plants, which aren't going to be able to pull the weight you're looking for. A 1000W needs two feet between the lights and the plants, leaving less than two feet of height for each plant. You want a grow space that's at least 7 feet tall for a 1000W (and probably for a 600W, too). With your height I'd go for 400W lights or smaller if it were me. I do think your goal is pretty ambitious for your space.

If the grow space is 7'1" by 6'3" by 6'6" tall, it's little too big for a single 1000W to cover the whole space. You could put 2x 600W in there (it would be a really tight squeeze unless you can expand up into that space above the square). If you have to stay in that square, you might also try a 600W and a 400W together - even though you used the same energy, you'd get better yields than with a single 1000W.

You could do a 6'x6' and put 4x 315LEC in there which would pretty much be perfect since they suit a 3x3 footprintCompleted auto grows 3

Certainly. Perpetual autos or veg photoperiod plants in the smaller area and then transfer to the flowering room when there's space from previous plants being harvested.
