First Harvest / First Pre Harvest Trim

The first two I gave a rough cut not feeling comfortable with my technique. Both are Buddha Auto Purple. Those 2 are hung up drying. The third one Royal AK Auto, pre trimmed and on a flush with pH'ed water and 3/4 tablespoon of molasses per gallon. I used Cyco Coco Pearl. How can I improve my trimming skills, or is it just practice?

Gorgeous buds, nelson. I learned how to trim from this page:
Learn how to trim your buds so they look like the ones at a dispensary!

It's a messy business, but I love it!! I save all the sugar leaves and make dry ice hash. I have two small clippers so I can get in there and trim the leaves off close. I also have some scraping instruments so that when the sticky stuff builds up on the clippers, I can scrape it off and put it in the trim. I wear rubber gloves, and when I get a lot of sticky on the gloves, I throw em in the freezer so I can just break the sticky off and throw it in w/ trim. All trichomes are very precious to me!

Thanks. I'm just as passionate about using the entire plant. The coco pearl goes into the tree beds around the house and the stump goes into the compost. I'm putting buds in jars as we speak. Do you know if a 25 micron hash bag will work. The screen seems to tight for anything to pass through.

I've got three bags: a 73, a 160 and a 220. The only one I've used is the 220, because I got the number thing backwards (musta been high); but the 220 has given me great hash. On the next batch of dry ice hash, I'll definitely start with the 73 and work my way to the 220: I want to see the difference in color, taste, etc. Give the 25 bag a try and let us know what shakes through!! But if that's all you used, I think you'd miss some fat trichomes...

good job Nelson don't worry you will get used to trimming they are looking good . I have found the stumps don't decompose very good in fact I have some from a few years ago that are still in the compost pile even though I used it when I come across a stump I throw it back in the next pile. needless to say I don't put them in compost any more.
