CannaDragon I have had autos that did not go amber. I have also seen cheap lenses that dont produce good color and therefor you cant see the amber.
We need input, Lights, temps, RH, etc..
Welcome to GWE!

How long would you say maximum time period from seed to harvest for all autos? A rough window? I think until I master the sweetspot for harvest I will stick with autos.

Autos can run as short as 45 days from sprout to harvest or more than 130 days, it's all in her genes. So you cant give a time line for all autos, only a strain/hybrid. I have also heard of an auto that does not start flowering at 3-5 weeks (as most do) but vegges longer, then flowers.
Also you might try giving a 4 hour dark cycle, many will tell you they do need their beauty sleep, and it may help ripen those trics.

I don't grow autos, but I have seeds from Night Owl and one day yes.
If an auto is reluctant to finish, does it help to change the light schedule to 12/12 ?

how can I delete this post? I have the answer

What was the answer? Someone else may need the same question answered.

I'll walk that back a bit. It worked on this one auto, the light cycle was changed to 12/12, the buds continued to grow, got frostier with a scent. So I should say it worked for this one plant under all the variables involved: what strain type, what genetic background does the breeder introduce. I'm a numbers guy and my qualitative observation is this worked one time and maybe it will work again.

I know there's chemicles out there like purplemaxx that turn parts of ur buds purple I have used it but I wanna know what chemicles make what colors in the buds and why they produce that color.
Here is the link-
Nothing says "WOW" like some green that isn't green. So where do those amazing bud colors come from?
No offense is intended to GWE. I think you’re the best there is and I have learned so much from the GWE site- I never read other forums on growing, maintaining and harvesting my plants. Thank you for a fantastic website!

I'm grateful for the answers and info I find online about my question, but, I still can't seem to get a consistent answer in terms of desiccant to seed ratio when storing seeds in the freezer. Approximately, how many desiccant balls to how many seeds? Also, if you have too many seeds, do you run the risk of overdrying them in the freezer? Also I realize that different well-functioning freezers my have different levels of humidity. How does one account for that or is that an issue provided the freezer works well? (i.e.; not too humid/frosted over) Thanks!

My biggest question is about humidity and curing. I can’t get it through my head for whatever reason.
At what humidity is it best to move the bud into a jar for curing? I’ll have a hygrometer in the jar with bud to see where it’s at. Usually > 62% I’ll let it air out another day until it’s 60% @ 75 degrees. Then I’ll start burping containers and let it settle to 58% with Boveda.
Am I on the right track? By-Tor and I would like to know.

Hello Nebula Haze!
Ive been following your grow with Spyder Farmer vs Mars Hydro LEDs and am anxiously awaiting the final results.
I had decided to purchase the Mars Hydro but came across a brand MixJoy which uses the same components ( Samsung LEDs etc) but is controllable from iPhone via Bluetooth app.
I went ahead and purchased the Mixjoy GL4000s to replace my blurple LEDs for a 4x4 grow tent. This light is powerful and I have to monitor the distance daily for light burn but thus far my plants Gorilla Glue #4 and Barney’s Farm Acapulco Gold are chugging right along. See pic, entering 2nd week of 12-12 schedule. Thanx for your advice and expertise!

When starting with seedlings and clones in pottingmix that has no added nutrients except for perlite, is it ok to use a 1part hydro nutrient mixed in water from day one b4 the roots have developed? Iast time I done this with clones i used only water until the roots developed but that took 3to4weeks..........
Also I have 3 temperature gauges in tent, 1 directly under lights, 2on front+back tent sides or 3 have different readings, which one do I follow.

jiules The temp under the lights will usually be higher. You want to know the temp at the canopy level/plants' tops. I don't use a tent. What are you using to start the plants in, a cup, pot or fabric bag?Soil: Coast of Maine Stonington Blend, perlite; Seedlings: CoM org potting soil
Indoor: 2 x 5.5 x 8' Closet grow
Viparspectra XS2000; EnjoYield 220W full spectrum light added during flower
Various size fabric grow bags
Cal-Mag & GH Trio if needed; Flower Fuel & molasses during bloom; ReCharge
4 clip fans. Exhaust into attic is vented to the eaves
Current grow: DEAD FLOWERS

In plastic cups....
I try and have a light directly over all of my plants.. so if I was to take the temperature reading I would have a gauge at the plants top height which would be under direct light.. is this right or OK.

I use hygrometers sitting on top of the soil mix or resting on top of two bags that are close to each other. One was cheap from amazon, the other is the one I used to dry my first harvest. I haven't started weed in cups yet but with herbs I only used water, it didn't take that long for them to be root bound. Watch them, if you see a deficiency it's often cal-mag that's needed first. Not sure of your lights/intensity or strain you're starting. Sounds like you have a cannabis grow in progress, or other plants already growing in your tent?

Hey man don't over think this. Don't fry those little seedlings if they sprout. Read about just basic stuff on your first grow, folks make this too stupid scientific. A low wattage CFL is all seedling needs for first wk or two. If you can make it past 2wks great. But you need to read up on seedlings it's all here under turtorials.

question is.....how do the pros get such dense, crystalline buds when every time I dry and cure my buds are very different looking. dispensary buds are very crystal in structure and have been trimmed so close that there is little hint of sugar leaves, just dense rocks.
is this done with a special finish technique in the last weeks of growth? do they just have a knack for trimming? is their curing technique different that drying and jarring?
I would really like to know
my buds look good and smoke well, they just don't have that pro look. My last grow I discovered cutting all nitrogen in the last 6 weeks or so and using just a bud candy type of nute for bud development. There is enough nitrogen and other stuff to carry the plants after the stretch and this makes them less fluffy, more dense. Still....I need those hard nugsLast edited by Cronk; 08-02-2021, 03:51 PM.complete beginner
