My biggest question is about humidity and curing. I can’t get it through my head for whatever reason.
At what humidity is it best to move the bud into a jar for curing? I’ll have a hygrometer in the jar with bud to see where it’s at. Usually > 62% I’ll let it air out another day until it’s 60% @ 75 degrees. Then I’ll start burping containers and let it settle to 58% with Boveda.
Am I on the right track? By-Tor and I would like to know.

I'm grateful for the answers and info I find online about my question, but, I still can't seem to get a consistent answer in terms of desiccant to seed ratio when storing seeds in the freezer. Approximately, how many desiccant balls to how many seeds? Also, if you have too many seeds, do you run the risk of overdrying them in the freezer? Also I realize that different well-functioning freezers my have different levels of humidity. How does one account for that or is that an issue provided the freezer works well? (i.e.; not too humid/frosted over) Thanks!

How are your relatives, wife/girlfriend usually react on growing? Do they support you? Did you hide the fact of growing from them?

It is a fascinating topic, with a touch of mystery. During senescence plants are producing anthocyanins, a red pigment, inside the leaves. I wonder what taste if any is imparted by other pigments. Why? Because the chlorophyll is foul, what about other pigments?

I'll walk that back a bit. It worked on this one auto, the light cycle was changed to 12/12, the buds continued to grow, got frostier with a scent. So I should say it worked for this one plant under all the variables involved: what strain type, what genetic background does the breeder introduce. I'm a numbers guy and my qualitative observation is this worked one time and maybe it will work again.

Thanks, NuggetMan. I grow outside with full sun. I’m not sure why my plants wilt so soon, after reading your post. My one good plant (I killed one experimenting and 2 others went male) grew to about 7 foot tall and was fantastic bud. Hopefully, this year’s grow will be as good (same strain).

I know there's chemicles out there like purplemaxx that turn parts of ur buds purple I have used it but I wanna know what chemicles make what colors in the buds and why they produce that color.
Here is the link-
Nothing says "WOW" like some green that isn't green. So where do those amazing bud colors come from?
No offense is intended to GWE. I think you’re the best there is and I have learned so much from the GWE site- I never read other forums on growing, maintaining and harvesting my plants. Thank you for a fantastic website!

What was the answer? Someone else may need the same question answered.

Budmarsh- if you’re still here,
I am new at this growing thing. My first harvest was from seeds of unknown origin given to me by family who said, “It’s good weed”.It wasn’t- unless that’s what passes for ‘good’ to them. Anyway, my plants grew like, well, a weed but were worthless potent wise.
My second harvest was from seeds that somehow slipped in at the dispensary and
we’re from ‘Trinidad-Blue Dream’. The best plant grew to about 7 feet tall and looked like someone had literally sprinkled sugar all over it- everything was covered in Trichomes. It very good smoke and I’m very (very) new to growing.
I said all that to say this, all I used was a simple 50/50 of potting soil and peat moss. I also added Miracle Grow fertilizer every 4-6 weeks until about 10 days from harvest. It may seem too simplistic to be true but that was as good of pot as we and others around
us have ever smoked- some in 40 years of toking. Im very inexperienced but why change something simple that works extremely well.
I did the same thing this year and they look amazing at 5-6 weeks. I’m even gonna try manifolding with one or two plants this year (2021).

Autos can run as short as 45 days from sprout to harvest or more than 130 days, it's all in her genes. So you cant give a time line for all autos, only a strain/hybrid. I have also heard of an auto that does not start flowering at 3-5 weeks (as most do) but vegges longer, then flowers.
Also you might try giving a 4 hour dark cycle, many will tell you they do need their beauty sleep, and it may help ripen those trics.

I don't grow autos, but I have seeds from Night Owl and one day yes.
If an auto is reluctant to finish, does it help to change the light schedule to 12/12 ?

Welcome to GWE!
How long would you say maximum time period from seed to harvest for all autos? A rough window? I think until I master the sweetspot for harvest I will stick with autos.
