    Leafy bud problem?

    Hey all,

New member and novice grower here, so your patience and input is greatly appreciated!

I'm growing my first plant from a seedling I found randomly growing in my yard. It started about 6 weeks late into the growing season. I had to transplant it to somewhere a little more hidden from prying eyes. It gets plenty of morning and midday sun, but shortly after lunchtime it goes into shade. Our summer temperatures can get quite hot (100F), but it's now tailing off into autumn and our super hot days are few. I fertilised with 100% organic guano about 5 times during it's lifespan, the last being at the start of flowering (4-5 weeks ago).

My friends who grow are now starting to harvest, but my lady isn't quite ready yet.

Is it possible to tell from these pictures how long I have left?

My buds are fattening nicely, but there are loads of fan leaves growing out the buds. Is this a cause for concern? I realise it's probably too late to do anything about it, but should I maybe prune those?

    Thanks so much!

Howdy DarthFader, I can not tell for certain, but it looks like it needs some more time to ripen. Take a close look at the buds with a magnifier (40X or better) and see if the trichomes are clear, cloudy, or turning amber in color. The THC is at the greatest level when they turn 80% - 90% cloudy and You get a more 'couch lock' effect as they turn amber (or darken). The plant looks to be healthy.
    Good luck with Your grow.

You have a plant that is still making buds -not a bad place to be!
New hairs sticking out/up with not many, if any, curled and discolored<-- add this to the above DW2
It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

The leaves should be growing out of the bud, that's the easiest way for the plant to send the energy made from the light to the bud, after you harvest it is when you'll trim those off.
        Grow and good luck

They look good, but you are at least a month from harvest by the looks of them. I cannot be for sure the Loupe that was suggested is the best way to know for sure. Good luck!

It may just be a reaction to the heat what caused the fox tailing and not having enough light hours can prolog flowering. I think everything is ok. It's perfectly healthy for an outdoor plant in a hot climate. You just have to wait
