Hello everyone, I'm a first time grower, and just completed my first grow of white widow. It was only two plants, I grew them using super soil method and gave the plants zero nutes, one plant did fine, the other had calcium deficiency , now I'm growing 2 northern lights the same way and now a couple weeks into flower and I'm seeing the same prob again in one plant. Should I use cal mag to correct it? Or let it go since its flowering already? I'm afraid to use nutes because I always never sure correct dose for plant size. Any help I would appreciate it, happy growing

Might look at using some Blackstrap Molasses. That should help with Cal-Mag issue some as well as microbes in soil. Maybe 1 tablespoon per gallon of water to start. SULFUR FREE. As with any supplement, start small and see how plant reacts.DIY grow space 2.5' X 3.5' X 6.5'

I'm a new grower as well. I have 3 different strains going right now and feed them all according to the general hydroponic 3 some instructions, and I always go light on it. My point is that my chronic auto flower plants show some kind of deficiency. The others look ok for now!! Does anyone ever get these growing techniques down ? If I had any hair I'd pull it out!

Thanks for the replies everyone, my plants are using about a gallon of water every three days, I thought about trying recharge as well. I have cal mag coming today, will using cal mag carefully during flower increase my yield? Again thanks for all your help, I hope to contribute more in the future."Please don't throw your shit at me... unless that shit resembles a bag of marijuana"

Cal-Mag won't really increase your yields unless your plant isn't getting enough, but if you are seeing deficiencies it will help your plants grow better. I definitely agree with the others that Cal-Mag is a great supplement and it's usually not very "strong" so I don't think it will burn your plants. With any nutrients it's good to start around 1/2 strength just to see how your plant reacts.
Could you post a picture of the plant in the setup and a closeup of the deficiency? That can help us see if Cal-Mag will help, or if it's possibly something else causing the problem.
Congrats on your first harvest and it sounds like you're on top of this grow!

Thanks so much, I followed your soil guide to the T, my first grow yielded about 2.5 oz per plant, and that was in the same setup, minus a LED light. I'm trying to avoid nutes because to me, the dosing stuff gets a little overwhelming, plus I found its less hassle not to use nutes, but I felt my buds could've been bigger, still happy with my results, thanks again

It's hard to see leaves clearly in that light. Are the spots appearing on the leaves at the bottom of the plant that are not getting light anymore, or are they appearing on other parts of the plant? It does look like a calcium deficiency though. Have you been checking the pH?
With the P300 LED by Advanced Platinum the average yield is about 3 ounces per unit, so it sounds like you actually got a pretty great yield!

I know it's such a pain to move the plant or turn off the light to take pictures! That does look like a Calcium deficiency. I think the supplement should help, but make sure you're also checking the pH whenever you see a deficiency! Making sure the plant has healthy leaves will definitely help improve your yieldsJust curious, how often have you been watering the plant, and have you been removing extra runoff water out the bottom after each watering?

I agree with Nebula to not let the plant suck the water back up. As for Calmag, I did not use on my first two grows. They went great but yellowed more than they should have from week 4 to harvest. My last grow I used cal mag with every feeding. My hydro shop suggested Calmag is not very strong and not likely to burn and that was my experience. Calmag helped keep them green and healthy with no burning.4X4 Gorilla with Solar Storm 440 LED. Coco / perlite, 5 Gallon fabric containers. LST and scrog. Grows to date all Indica Dominant Hybrids
