Auto Experiment: Trainwreck, White Widow, Wipeout Express

Well my second grow has begun! I have upgraded my entire setup. I am growing 2 Trainwrecks, 2 Wipeout Epress & 1 White Widow, all Autos.
    The setup is:
4x4x6.5 tent, 400w MH/HPS Cooltube, 176cfm HV exhaust fan, new ducting, 5 gallon Smart pots, Canna coco/Perlite, GH Flora TRio, CaliMagic, KoolBloom, 1 Gallon humidifier and 2 fans.
My first grow was a great learning experience! Special thanks to NebulaHaze, Tika and, of course, Green75 for their extensive help and advice! This forum is full of very knowledgeable growers...I look forward to meeting more.

LOL they haven't sprouted yet. The pic on the left is from my first grow. I was showing you the difference in space and equipment. I'm excited again!

Interesting setup. I def like the stands/spacers for smart pots. Just transferred into 5 gallon pots myself, finding my space very crowded lol

elevating smart pots is a must do. I got these plastic risers that fit into trays to catch the runout. Works great. Found out the hard way I needed to use larger trays though_ get ones large and deep enough to hold at least 1 gallon of water.

I needed the stands. Last grow, my runoff was being soaked back into the roots...not good lol!

I'm a little baffled. I have 2 fans going and my temp is over 80. The house nor the room is hot and it's 45 outside. I also have the humidifier going on high. I don't feel a lot of heat from the cool tube, so why is my tent so hot? I opened the window...hope that helps. I also think I made a mistake. I didn't water my coco/perlite mix before planting my seeds. So far, only one of the Trainwrecks have sprouted. I'm wondering if I killed the other seeds or should I wait another day or two to see if they sprout?

Have got a good inlet duct if so maybe on might try put a booster fan on your outlet duct. I don't grow much indoor I have over the years but I can't get enough for my time and money. I start mine in a greenhouse and move outdoors in may and average around 2 to 2.5 lbs a plant

How are you venting out the extra heat? The fans will help circulate the air, but they won't take the heat down on their own. The heat needs to be vented out in some way if you want to lower the temperature, I'm sure opening a window could help.

Make sure the seeds are nice and moist, but not soaking wet. They should be in a warm spot. I'd definitely give them a few more days, as some seeds can take a week or longer to sprout. Don't give up on them yet!

I have a new 176cfm HV fan pulling the hot air out to the window. I'll give the seeds a few more days. Thanks as always!

Hmmm, is there a way for fresh cool air to get into the grow space, after the hot air is vented out? Is the ducting from the light to the fan in a straight line to the window without any air leaks? Considering the cool temperatures outside the grow space, the fact that it's getting hot in there makes it seem like there is an inefficiency with the exhaust system, or perhaps you need a stronger fan for the setup.

I was wondering about the fan. It's supposed to be much stronger than the booster I used for my first grow. The ducting is new...I just bought it. I did put a fan in the window. The room cooled down to 77...the tent is wide open. I'll keep you posted. The Trainwreck that did sprout seems to be doing well though.

I use the wet paper towle to germ seeds. I only plant once the root is out and she'll opening. I know for sure if seeds popped or not.

Slice em like a hotdog bun before ya put your seed in, if it takes to long you have the option to peak. I only peaked in one of four, I had more strength then i thought lolol

I do basically the same thing as CCisme_ soak a rapid rooter or similar, slice it in half, put a seed in and lay it on its side. Look at it every 24 hrs. When the root tip has grown out at least a 1/4 " I put it into production. If not, I try another. Usually I try to sprout 2x as many seeds as I want plants. Opens up options for later to grow the strongest plants.
