    Calyxes

Anybody out there have any close up photos of swollen calyxes at harvest? my trichomes are turning cloudy early (?) and pistils are mostly brown and curly but buds haven't filled in as much as last grow when I waited for 20% amber. I did sample a popcorn bud from underneath and man oh man! Just waiting for buds to bulk up a little more. Calyxes are not swollen yet.

Trichomes are the most important tell all...it's up to you if you want more head or body high...the more amber the more body high.if buds haven't fattened up by now they most likely will not.

What's early? What's your supposedly harvest time?

If you are satisfied with the quality, harvest now. If they swell up some more now. You won't be able to tell the difference after they dry. I do have to agree with you PuraviaC. 20% amber is good.

Growing AK-48 (I know, I know, don't like the name either) which is supposed to have a 48 day flower period under "optimal" conditions. Mine are in less than optimal conditions and are in week 6 of flower, roughly day 38. Last grow of same strain took 84 days of flower. I'm surprised at how this grow differs from last. I did make slight increase in CFL lighting but nothing else. There is also little or no odor yet. Haven't needed to hook up carbon scrubber. Really pleased with 3 hour and counting buzz from under developed popcorn bud I sampled this morning... 😆

Gotta interject here. My first grow was AK-47. I chose that strain because of the name knowing it is a precision/spot on firearm and that's why it was named that. At the same time I would not grow "Cat Piss" And I have shot one a few times..shoots like a fine wine a divine smoke too.Have fun!!

Tika; not making a negative statement about guns but I do support naming strains that don't give legalization opponents more ammo, so to speak! 😉
