Definitely the way to go if you've got the space for it, the plants sure love it

Hell yeah baby! You won't regret it. From what I've seen already it performs as well as my 1200w led. Which does a decent job already. To be fair. But watch your skin, I'm not kidding, long sleeves, straw hat and welding goggles too for your eyes. Congrats!

Been reading you guys commenting about exposure but wondered if good sunglasses that block UV would work?

I'd think so but the welding goggles work great too for me with the leds and cfls around.

Nice! It seems like people are getting really good results with LEC grow lights. Very consistently they seem to be getting better yields than LEDs, and you can actually see your plants in true color!

You said you have been interested in LEC. When are you going to pull the trigger? I found that buying parts (hood, ballast and lamp) separately can save a bunch of money over buying ready made unit.

I actually prefer the ready made 315 LEC unit because I like how they constructed the hood. I think it's better at keeping cool without a fan than a similar wattage HPS.

I want to use one in my 250W tent to compare the difference. I haven't gotten one yet because I just moved and haven't set up the smaller tent in my bedroom yet

I got a Sun System 315 remote hood that has the same "crinkled" reflector material inside. I wanted a remote ballast for my set up and that was what my local hydro shop had on display. I couldn't believe how little heat it generated and it isn't enclosed or vented but you gotta do what makes you happy! 😆 Hope all is well with your move. Lord knows that can be a pain in the arse!

Interesting, I didn't realize there were other hood models using that same form factor, I will definitely have to check that out! It's amazing how fast the industry is moving when it comes to grow lights, I hope the legalization trend continues because we're getting so many great options as more people get into the industry!

Yeah, I wouldn't have known about the remote ballast set up if I hadn't seen it at the hydro shop.

I wouldn't have even known about LEC/CMH lights if it wasn't for the GWE site and forum I can't wait to post some pics and show what my setup has done for me, all thanks to you and the other wonderful people here
