    Trimming For Better Bud Production

These Ladies turned 60 days today. All auto's, 1-Royal AK, 2- Free-Purple Kush,, & 2- Heavy 2 Fast, 2 Vast. They are in 5 gal smart pots filled with Cyco Coco Pearl. Last week i started adding to my GH Flora Series feedings GH Bio Bud 1/2 tea per gal and Black Molasses 1 tea per gal. Two things, how many leaves may I remove safely..And would that make the plant send the extra energy to the buds, or would it make any difference? I think the leaves covering some buds keeps them from their maximum potential. I am using 2-Galaxyhydro 600W full spectrum LED's keeping them 18" above the canopy in a 4x4 tent. Is that enough light saturation for the buds that are covered by leaves or should I give the ladies a trim? Thanks, my first grow.

You can certainly remove leaves covering bud sites...I would take them all...

Thanks for the advice.I started to defoliate last night than figured what the hell, and ended up doing a pretty strong one. two of them were doing bad, really drooping (2 fast 2 vast) today they look like marching soldiers! I will post some pics. Ive been using Bio Bud 3/4 tea per gal. and dark Molasses 1 tea per gal. would you up the dose or keep it where it is. Today marks the 9th week from seed. Thanks

Looking good. They a bit droopy but many things could be. I would put special attention to the lower branches and leaves touching each other. As well as air flow. So if you going to defoliate plan ahead and go easy. You can always take a few more but you cannot put back

Nice! Gonna have some killer buds when they fatten up! Like 9 said, take a few fan leaves to open up bud site but go easy, especially your first time. Green is a big advocate for major defoliating but he has a lot of experience and no fear. I defoliated a lot during my last grow but was too rough around buds when I defoliated for the last time. Be very careful not to touch buds once they start developing trichomes.
