    Flower strech

Got a low plant with nice even canopy utilizing LST and growing under CFL's. Should I allow bud sites to get a jump by allowing some vertical growth before switching to 12/12 light schedule? Been growing same strain for last three grows. First grow had crazy strech, second grow had zero strech. I'm getting close to starting flower and still trying to figure out why last grow didn't strech. First grow yielded 6 Oz and second grow only yielded 3 Oz so you can see why I'm trying to get more strech!

That's the problem. Same strain, same soil, lights and nutes. It was like two different strains. Guess I just gotta chalk it up to " it doesn't take all kinds... there just is all kinds"!!!

That is one lovely plant and an interesting question. I wonder myself. Good q from DW2 as well.
I am not convinced that stretch = more bud sites..yet. And the larger factor is exposing your bud sites to light.
how old now, indica or sativa? How soon to the switch?

Thanks, Tika. It's AK-48, a hybrid with more sativa but the leaves are really fat!! She will be 6 weeks old, from sproat, tomorrow. Had some bad soil PH in the beginning so she was a little slow out of the gate. I was thinking about letting her go for two more weeks before switching just to see if extra veg time made a difference. Ain't it nice to have some stash from old grows laying around in mason jars!!

How long has that plant been in veg?

      Yes same question

longer in veg the bigger the yields - many veg for 30 days -45 days - 60 days the "stech" depends on strain generally figure the plant will double in size with cfl's but if you keep your cfl's too high your plant will strech to 2 -3 x' - size of cfls' ? (for proper height)(generally 2-8 inches)- depends on wattage) ( 5-6 inches is the" sweet spot"

I have four, 42w lights in a reflector overhead and three 40w U-bends on sides. I have been keeping overhead lights about 4" from plant and wondered if I raise them if that would help encourage strech. Plant is currently very compact.

Reason I'm asking: two of my current photoperiods are staked down and a month in veg. Look similar to yours; but if I were to measure the "legs" from topping are like 8 to 10 inches. Now each leg is bending upward from the edge of a 4 gallon pot. My first time doing lst as well.

This one is 6 weeks old but had a little jet lag in the beginning due to bad soil PH. She "seems" to be about a week behind past grows as I started flower light switch at 5 and 6 weeks veg on those. Now that I have some extra stash I'm not in as much of a hurry to harvest so I plan to let this one veg for two more weeks if I can.
