    Dispensary Vs.

So I've had my share of shared joints, but only have owned 2 or 3 types of some pre rolls years ago just because I was in Michigan. I haven't purchased weed other than that in years. I'm far from a great grower but I just had someone grab some from up there so I could try it out and have different flavors than what I grown. I will say that they were lower tier ones at 35 and 75$.

My guy gets bulk from up there and I've seen decent to good stuff (120$ range) but I've never had any I wanted to get. I did get two 75$ ounces and even based off of that I prefer my home grown. I have 11 samples and some smell ok but most are harsh to smoke. All around 25-30%. Oldest was harvested in October so I'm assuming our burping and maintenance is a reason why I want mine.

I've seen posts noting this before but has anyone found a top choice to get from any dispensary or is it just that our love comes out fresh from the oven after it's dried and Franklin and g2f just breed some winners? Basically who is with me. Or against. Either way.

AGE by Franklin on the left and a little stunted on my end Hot Cakes by G2F on the right. As always thanks again for the seeds. Mainly outdoor grown but already had mold in june in ohio. Even before all this rain came to the east coast area. 2 more weeks......

I'm with you. I buy vapes from the dispo but stopped buying weed. I've never bought a dispo ounce but mainly was buying pre-rolls and 1/4's and 1/8's of flower every now and again. I'm not the best grower either but I do prefer my homegrown weed vs dispensary weed every time.

Will occasionally buy vapes when I'm out of options, but 100% of the time I prefer my own stuff. If I want concentrate, I can make it myself. But my stuff is always cured properly and no additives whatsoever. The way the world is now I'd never buy on the black market again, people probably spraying fentanyl on the trees too. Back years ago in New York City when we copped in high school I heard there were some guys that sprayed their weed with Raid. Yeah, the bug killer. To mask the smell and for a "better high". I mean, holy cow. Never again. If it isn't grow in my basement I want nothing to do with it.

I have never set foot inside a dispo and only had their flowers when someone else offered to share. From what I sampled home grown is much better, tastier, potent. 42011 makes a good point, unless you know, you never know what is being added to the stuff they sell. It could even be that it was not dried correctly and has mold in it. I person I know in another state was accidently dosed with fentanyl from street weed. Back in the mid to late 70's there was the paraquat contamination. I remember buying test kits to screen for that poison. Unfortunately the same can be said for the food supply in general in this country. The crap they spray the crops with is just poison, and is a main factor in the poor health crisis in this country.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

Yes we did smoke what we could get, and what we could get was usually mexican brick weed. So glad that stuff is just a memory now.

When weed came legal in Missouri in January of 2023 I visited a couple dispensaries to try some. Hadn’t bought any in close to 30-35 years before that on the street of course.. can remember back in the 70’s buying Mexican for 15-20 an ounce and happy I got it stems and seeds fast forward to 2026 now grow more than I need and better no reason to go buy weed just seeds.. kind a like how grown tomatoes always better than the store bought and I know what’s in it.

I remember the Mexican brick ganja well. When some ganja came to town, we always wanted to know if it was brown or green. The times have changed for sure. I never thought we would see legalization in my lifetime

The dispensaries are selling junk weed. Just like big tobacco adds chemicals to their products to make it more pleasant and addictive, they’re doing the same thing at dispensaries and on the street now from what I’ve read. They add extra terpines and such to make their products more flavorful and attractive which can cause anxiety, paranoia and other symptoms when laced too heavily.

I highly recommend everyone to grow their own product, especially if they care about what they’re putting into their body. The dispensaries only care about profit. That’s it

Yes golf your right but I never get tired of the bee jokes.. funny bee tending and growing have a lot in common. Both involve science and art the science helps You learn while the art comes with experience you get a feel for the natural environment. Old saying amongst bee folks.. ask 10 different ‘beekeepers’ the same question you’ll get 12 different answers same goes with growing. Oh and I don’t refer to myself as a beekeeper, you really don’t keep them they have tendencies to swarm and fly away sometimes for no apparent reason. So I just like to call myself a bee tender, farmer or one who plays with bees😎

I respect honey bees...other bees not so much.

That sounds like the start of a song.

I plant pollinator flowers as much as I can. Hate mowing when the clover is in flower. Always try to save them.

My friends hive just swarned and left. He said they left queens for the next generation. Always wanted bees. I can drink honey. Great add in when making Cole slaw. Yum.
