Burping Interrupted

Quick question and I can't find it on the GWE site. I have 10 jars of Northern Lights auto that have been dried and jarred and are at 58% humidity according to my hydrometers. I have to leave town for a week. They are at day 5 in jars and burping.
Will I loose any quality if I put them into the fridge while I am gone and resume burping when I get back? Fridge or freezer?

Hello. In my opinion if you are already storing your buds in a cool dark dry place then I would say the buds will be fine while you are gone. Make sure your jars aren't overstuffed with buds. Add a Boveda humid pack to your jars for extra care. They work well taking humidity up or down

Never freezer, unless washing for hash and then don’t let it thaw before washing
Apparently frozen water can expand in the cells and bust the trichomes releasing good stuff when it thaws lowing the quality
And yes they will be fine, resume burping when your back

Thanks Smallgrow, I will put them in the fridge. Too hot to let them sit out. I live in a hot and arid place.

A couple of suggestions, make sure the lids on your jars are tightly sealed to keep the fridge and food smells out of your weed. And when you take the jars out of the fridge let them acclimate to room temp before you open them up to avoid condensation being reintroduced into weed.

I wouldn’t put them into the fridge at all. If the humidity in the jars are 58% then you’re done burping. Once my jars are in the 60-65% range I put the lids on tight and let em sit for 2-3wks somewhere cool and dark. After that they’re smokable

If your humidity is stable at 58% you should be good for 7 days.
