Are those trichomes cloudy or milky? Do you see any amber or clear ones? I prefer to try and harvest when the trichomes are all cloudy with just a touch of amber.

That’s my problem. Everything looks the same to me. I can’t figure it out, even with the magnifying glass.

If the trichomes are giving you trouble use the pistils as your guide. What do they look like over all of the buds? Are the hairs all or mostly all turned brown or orange and curled in? That's also a good indicator that you are in the harvest window.

You need a Jewelers Loop of at least 50x. That is the only way you can see the Trichomes clearly.
