How to pick photoperiod seeds that grow well together?

I'm in the planning phase before my first grow.

I decided to go with photoperiod seeds since that gives me more time to figure out watering and get plants healthy before I initiate the flowering stage.

Maybe I'll grab a few autoflower seeds and just grow them alongside the photoperiod seeds for an extra early harvest. Even if I mess up with them, I'll have the photoperiod plants. I've heard some people say it can be fun to do both autoflower and photoperiod together. But others say it's just more work.

I figure I should try to avoid short or tall strains for my first grow.

I plan to grow 4 plants, but I'm not sure if it should be all different strains, or maybe two strains with 2 plants each.

Should I try to get a bunch of strains by the same breeder, or should I use different breeders and just try to match the stats?

Have you ever grown strains that match each other? Any horror stories where different strains cause problems?

If it were me, I'd grow four plants of the same variety. Whenever I have seeds that don't sprout at the same time it is a royal PITA to keep proper lighting just because one or more plants are ahead of the others. I think that is what you might expect growing different cultivars at the same time. It's def doable though.

Is there any strain you really like?

Yes. I really like Killer A5 Haze from Ace Seeds. It's a photo. I like Zamaldelica also from Ace. It's an auto.

Different strains in the same tent is definitely doable but you might run into problems with different heights, nutrient needs, light etc. To be fair you can still have those problems with different phenos of the same strain but usually you can get by treating them all the same.
