Alan Barlow-Saturated Paste-20260223-195468.pdf Alan Barlow-Soil-20260223-195468.pdf Hello to all: I submitted a compost sample, which I intend using exclusively as my outdoor growing medium ( soil here sucks). I realize the Ph is way off, how much Sulphur per ft/cu will lower it to 7.0 ? I honestly don't know what the other findings mean and their impact on growth. Advice is most welcome.

Hey oldsmoker, I'm definitely no expert on reading soil reports but it lists the essential macro and micro nutrients plants need to grow and how much of each is in the sample. Those numbers are way higher than any other report I've seen but for compost probably normal. I would guess that by itself it will be way to hot for growing and would work best mixed with potting soil. Most recipes I've seen call for 25-50%compost to soil depending on what else you add and style of grow. I use around 40% compost with dry amendments in my mix that I'm still getting dialed in. That should also solve the ph problem. Most soil reports I've seen come with a written summary and recommendations depending on crops to be grown. You didn't get anything like that?
