Anyone else growing cacti? Honestly I have too much weed so I moved my outdoor San Pedro indoors. Slightly different techniques but still fun and rewarding

These two are about 70 years old. They belonged to my mother who gave them to me. The old brown growth on the bottom is how big they were when I started taking care of them about 1986. They were in the living room window until 1996 when my first child was born. Then they were moved to the basement and have not moved since. The spines have grown into the screen, the old plastic pots are degrading and falling apart, and the roots are showing on one side of the pot. They get some water tossed on them every 1-2 months and some leftover nute solution in the summer time. I would like to replant them but know nothing about what they need for soil and I'm not sure how to handle them without getting skewered or breaking the spines, and I do not know what they need for nutrients. I must say that these plants are the definition of a plant that thrives on neglect.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

Cactus soil is pretty easy to make yourself, especially if you already have soil building materials for cannabis laying around. The ingredients are pretty much the same just different ratios if i remember correctly. Made some years ago, don't remember the exact recipe but I'm sure a Google search will give you many to choose from.
