    ACB and friends

Aunties Candy Bowl up first by our Franklin Going to call it and say not an auto, saw light above dirt October 21st and the other autos are in early flower. Still looks awesome , tight growth. I welcome all autos and photos so we are good. I'll update in time.

Tried spider farmers auto watering bases and as expected they don't work well. Keeps them too wet even with one wick. Will mod it and put a valve so the supply is separate. Open for water when they need it, still should save some time. Surprisingly the autos seem to be recovering as I think I caught it early enough.

And some friends. 7 total, 4 photos 3 autos. Trying my first manifold but I've been doing bonsai for some time now that I'm old. Using a thin layer of Teflon tape. Plants rule.

Nice man! DabberDog is also growing the ACB and also not an auto, so that's 0 out of 2. Thanks for the data. Mine turned out great, great orange smell and very strong, I hope yours does too

I'll take those odds from you any day. Starting to pick up speed now and get taller. I'll update when I start to really see progress again.

Funny you said that about the orange smell Franklin.
My hands smelled like straight orange zest after giving Little Lucy a fluff to look for wet spots.

Ok so can this be explained? Tap water, 3 stage filtered with a heavy metal filter as the last stage, have multiple garden and potted plant grows behind it, pH of 7.44. Ph'ed to 6.5, couple days later it's 8.22 from the remaining amount of water.

I have been chasing a wet issue and pH issue. Apera60 pen but not recently calibrated. Used regularly, usually maintained, and the bulb has been in storage fluid...cleaned with distilled water.

I feel the pen is accurate or at least all being tested at the same session so regardless of the ph number, there may be my problem. I store a 5 gallon jug of water, use half and then use the other half a couple days later. So the second use wasnt measured and it's been drifting. I use fox farm ph down in living soil.

I mean my wife does secretly hate me being in the tent, but it's taking me more time to chase this issue.

So, why the drift up? Is this real life? Expired juice? It's 3 years old but no date on the bottle.

I finished this auto with issues but aunties candy bowl and another photo are having a bad time.

What is the active ingredient of the pH down? Are you adding anything else to the water? How long after mixing are you taking a reading?

The pen is probably fine for calibration unless the probe is really old. 18 months to 2 years seams to be about the life of a pH60 probe. Was for me anyway.

Did you get on top of the over watering? That is often a cause of pH problems in soil.

It's citric acid. Odd to me but I guess it could spike after a couple days? I was keeping the 5 gallon supply and making gallons. This grow I mixed the whole thing and used the other half in about 3 or so days .

Yeah on the watering. I bought a wick watering system and fractured my foot. I didn't get to maintain the plants like I needed. Been in a boot for a few weeks now. It's getting old but I'm at least 50 percent better now. Few more to go. I've tried many angles at making a good watering system. Hand watering seems to always win out so far.

I use lemon juice which is the same as you.

I did have a problem with rising pH in my tank, it would rise from 6 to over 7 in a week but it was caused by a micro (calmag) nutrient additive that was incompatible with my base nutes...I think.

It also stank the tank out after a week.

The nutes were by different manufacturers...problem solved. Ditched the calmag from the other manufacturer and finally sourced one from the base nute manufacturer...

Citric acid holds my pH solid in my 200ltr reservoir even after a week. No fluctuations at all. I dont use an airstone in it. If you do nothing will work re pH stability except adjusting it daily.

I'm really hoping this was my issue, I'm going back to one gallon at a time now. I've been vegging these two for a long time now and am in need to flip. Been holding off till the symptoms go away but I'm out of time. Hoping for the best.

Do you think molasses can hurt these girls? I forgot I did give them a dose of it when I normally do it at the end of flowering. Didn't think so but was wondering if giving in veg could cause issues.

My soil should be on point but if it continues I may add a small amount of fertilizer to see if that helps. I've never had this issue so hoping it was just the ph and overwatering issue.

Don't add molasses. Molasses is typically added to the plant in the week or two prior to harvest by some who say it adds weight and other stuff to the buds. I know of no commercial growers that use it and some say it just adds sugar to the buds, maybe not even that.

Keep it simple. Focus on light (PPFD & DLI), fertigation (pH, frequency, amount, EC), environment (VPD) & great air movement. You can automate a lot of that very cheaply, pH and EC being expensive to go down that path and climate control will give you a larger power bill, but your grows will be the best you can have.

I haven't had a ton of years of experience but I know that this one was all on my foot. I've been doing good in my time but always needing guidance. I think my next purchase is a smart power strip. So I can record the environment stats. I'm in a snow storm now in the northeast and my basement gets cold. Wondering if that's adding to it all also. Either way, always a great time growing. Going to narrow it now this week and then flip to flower. At least this long veg let me get some clones out of it. Thanks again for the help.
