When does a strain’s odor appear?

Since this is my first grow, excuse my ignorance. I got several clones from a reputable source. Most of them had profiles that indicated they had a fruity aroma. One of them is called Melted Strawberries.

When they started flowering, I only got the dank smell. Even during the tricome stage, just the smell of weed. Does the aroma change after drying and/or curing?

Like many of you, I’ve gotten some weed that you could smell across the room the second you walked in. I was kinda concerned that the plants would stink up the neighborhood, but it wasn’t that bad.

The buds look great, just wondering about the smell

Smell comes on as the trichomes come on.

The dank you get as you grow in late flower should be very close to the dank you get in the jar as a final product if you dry and cure properly. If you dont youll end up with a cut grass/ dried hay smell which is well off the mark. It means youve lost too many terpines in the dry cure process and typically dryong too fast/too much is the main cause of that

I've found that the best odor comes in the cure jars. For me, I notice the dankness while the plant is growing, but the cure brings out the finer aromas that may be listed in the breeder's plant profile.

I love the smell of fresh dank. Dank is good in general. I have noticed harsh dank and sweet dank, fuel and lysol. I never did get anything like a fruity smell. But then my sense of smell is a bit off so maybe it is just me.
Don't worry, be happy, grow sticky buds.

My dank in my flower room was so dank, and I love smelling my curing jars so much, Ive come down with chronic exposure to cannabis dust and 12 months later still suffering the effects of chronic sinusitis.

Fucked if Im going to wear masks in my flower room. Taking a break until I improve. 🤞
